Problems

I think we need to get a group of people who have certain parts of the day free to fill servers.It doesn't take a lot of people, maybe 3-5 (but more would be even better) to get a server started.

I agree with this. I'd be willing to do it if there was more recognition involved.

Sometimes though people are like I don't like op metro I dont support it in any way but guys please come on I dont like TDM but i still help fill it sometimes if I am asked like they are still our servers and we should treat them as such. But OP metro has never had the chance for it to build that player base like if we can just get a bunch of admins to afk on it like maybe 10 then it can fill and if we keep it filled for long enough then it will build that player base that op metro players love. /rant over

Yeah, it pisses the living hell out of me to see that someone is not even trying to afk simply because they don't like the gamemode.

Our job is not to fill servers. It never was. As such if servers like TDM or OP Metro are lost because you can't get enough people to help fill because there is people like me who couldn't care less whether those servers exist or not, maybe we shouldn't have those servers.

One could easily replace my two examples with any of our servers and my point remains the same.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong I think there is a lack of people willing to help fill nowadays for any server. My problem was with the implication that I'm somehow obligated to support servers I couldn't care less about. I'm here to have fun first and foremost not cheerlead every decision by leadership.

Wrong attitude, without out our servers you wouldn't be here right???? How are you going to have fun on an empty eGO server? Helping with server population is not cheerleading, it's lending a much needed hand. Saying that you don't care shows just how much our problems are right now and with the other post about our Admins not admining is just sad also. I think more and more of our admins are starting not to care about what goes on around here. Which leads to this thought (for all not attacking wildcard personally), if you don't care then why still be an admin? Don't take it the wrong way, nothing personal just saying.

My point was if I don't have fun on a certain server, whether it's full or not is irrelevant. This isn't a job. I don't get paid to fill servers. I'm not going to waste my gaming free time, which I do for pleasure, filling a server I don't have fun in. Come get me for any of the three I do like and I'll gladly stop whatever it was I was doing and help fill. All I was saying was if there is not enough people who like the server without me then there must not be a general liking for the server...

As far as admining, I'm not one of those. I've gotten on Op Metro and TDM to admin before. I just don't see my obligation to fill them.

I realize you're not attacking me personally. I just want people to understand that you can't force people to waste their time on servers they don't have fun playing on. If a group of people don't want to lose a specific server, go and make sure it's filled by all means. The rest of us will help out with the others just don't consider us bad people because we'd rather have FUN and not WORK in a GAMING community. You can't get enough people that isn't my problem. Only time it is my problem is if it needs an admin, then I see my obligation but even then I would hope if we have the server we have an admin who enjoys the server who can do it.

We have two achievements we can hand out to those who help fill our servers on a consistent basis. Also we pay attention to who fills servers and that is a major factor in who we decide to promote. It doesn't get you much immediate gratification but we do notice it and recognize people for it.

The issue right now isn't so much that those 2 aren't filling. Those have actually filled the last few days. The issue is that two servers will get filled and then the crew will stop moving on to the next server. I know server filling gets tiring and I know you guys play to have fun and relax but that lonely B2K server needs some loving. I know it has been wonky with kicking everyone randomly but I need it to fill so I can see if it is a map issue rather than an EA or server issue. Also if there is a server you are not the biggest fan of playing on but you fill it anyway the easiest way to make sure you never have to fill that server again is to recruit people on that server. People who are recruited on a server tend to play on that server after they are recruited.

Nobody wants to play in an empty server, but if you take the time to "seed" a struggling eGO server others will join you. Try organizing people in Vent to help you or simply join an empty server and remain AFK while you eat dinner.

Having stated that, it can look bad to have several members sitting AFK in a server. We don't need more than 2 members seeding a server.

Seeding a server is what most of the time gets them going. I have found this to be true with the BF2 servers I play on as well as the =eGO= servers in BF3. I am new to this clan, but not new to the game. I have been a server admin and PB admin for a while now. The Starter Bots in BF2 were the best thing to ever hit the game. If BF3 were to start those.....It would be Awesome!!!!
