I enjoy playing T on this map because there are usually a few fail guards that fall off a catwalk or something and are easy to murder =D. Then you have a gun for you and you only and you can let loose on the Cts which is always a good time :].

But when I don't rebel and would like to proceed with the round and try to achieve last request I often find myself standing around playing unproductive games over and over which bores the hell out of me.

Most Cts need more creativity when wardening and know what the map has to offer before sending the Ts to outside of their cell, then the grate, then the soccer field, then die. ._.

Theres plenty of people who like his current maps. As I have said before, it is not the map that makes itself fun, it is the people playing on it.

That may be true but there still is that bomb that gets planted to much. And honestly i dont think anyone reads that Rogue, anyone who is warden i dont think they read that and they dont know whats on the map.

If you don't like getting shot because the bomb is planted every round, then rebel.

People not using available resources is no fault of the map. The simple fact is, there are plenty of things to do as explained in that thread. If people choose not to use them, you cannot fault the map for that.

The fact of the matter is as BmxImDead said every time the map gets on the server empties and it's rtv-ed or waited out.
You can not rely on people to be "creative" when they're is no evidence that creative wardens exist.
Making the map design complicated and no mini-games available forces the wardens to give out somewhat "generic" orders.
Prove to me otherwise.
If this update doesn't do much for the map (which it won't unless a of a re-design) the map will still be unpopular.
Therefore it's not the people's fault it's the map design to blame.
You can't blame someone for always using soccer as the only mini-game since they're is nothing else to do.
Except of course plant the bomb.

Why don't we close the thread and leave it at this.

If you don't like how the round is going then rebel.

As for Bmx, ive seen the server full on this map, and other maps get rtv'd because another
Map is wanted not because it's bad.

Saying it empties out is a hyperbole. I personally have not noticed numbers dip by more than a handful while on jb_alcatraz unless the server went down, and even then, it only gets rtvd off because it was the start map and got played back to back a few times.

You can not rely on people to be "creative" when they're is no evidence that creative wardens exist.
There actually are a few creative wardens, but they do play T as well, especially on JB maps. The T team is just more fun when the team works together. Nothing is more satisfying then reaping havoc in the CT ranks and hunting them down to the last.

Making the map design complicated and no mini-games available forces the wardens to give out somewhat "generic" orders.
The map is hardly complicated after sitting 1 or 2 rounds in spectator seeing where things lead. Also, as previously stated, there are some mini-games to do, and even on a map where theres a plethora of mini-games, many still go unplayed in a full hour rotation.

If this update doesn't do much for the map (which it won't unless a of a re-design) the map will still be unpopular.
The update will make it easier to get out of dodge when the bomb is planted. However, communication and attention are still key. If you notice the bomb way off in the middle of nowhere on your minimap, chances are it will be planted soon. The bomber really should communicate with his team though.

Therefore it's not the people's fault it's the map design to blame.
You can't blame someone for always using soccer as the only mini-game since they're is nothing else to do.

As has been said before, there are multiple things to do. Aside from the point, its a jailbreak map. Minigames is not the primary objective, rebelling is.

So do you people have something against rebelling? I personally love the map...

Haha same...

But as for playing Ct, my way of doing it is giving the Ts plenty of chances to rebel and make the round interesting.

I would usually tell the Ts to run somewhere directly giving them chances to sneak away and rebel. But, that's just my way of doing it, killing the Ts for slightest things or playing boring games over and over just isn't my thing. I tend to make use of the games that a map has to offer and sending the Ts directly there and if no Ts rebel, so be it, I move on.

People are misunderstanding this thread. I made this to find put other peoples opinions not to get it changed. I do honestly believe that this update will make it worse since now EVERY ROUND when the bomb is planted all T's will be out of there and rebelling.

This could also lead to the CTs giving the order to stack on the grate so when the bomb is planted (only a matter of time) they can just mowe them down. Most CTs are only there to get kills and never try to be warden or contribute to the round, yes they might hunt a rebeller down every so often but as soon as a non-rebelling T twitches even if its just a inch they get shot down immediately.

If i wanted to get kills and plant bombs I would just go play dust2, jailbreak is about having fun and being the last prisoner alive and if they don't want LR they can always rebel any time during the round.

I think we have made jail go a bit too far with the bomb sites and bombs scattered around the maps in more than 1 place, I can understand if the map had one bomb (in a CT area) and 1 bombsite, but not have the bomb spawn in the vent cell that leads directly to the bombsite which usually leads to the bomb being planted before cells even open.

Also about the map not having any activities and that it encourages people to be "creative" wardens is not the way jail is. There is only so far you can go before the warden says "when i type go race from that goal to the other" or "LR crouch". Jail maps that include random events, climbs and mazes are a lot more popular because "IT'S FUN" and people can actually leave the cell block and explore the map.

Saying that the Ts should band together and work as a team will never happen, yes some might follow after someone rebels. However a lot of pubs and other players like playing activities to get LR, activities which are not there. This leads to the few rebelling Ts getting shot down whilst the innocent Ts sit there not knowing whats going on and getting shot when the bomb has been planted. This is not going to be a fun experience for new players and will just drive the away with the thought "Why would I play that when all they do is shoot us every round for nothing".

I don't see the problem with Ts having a fighting chance when the bomb is planted, seeing as a lot of people are complaining that they don't.

Jailbreak is about having fun and being the last prisoner alive and if they don't want LR they can always rebel any time during the round.
I have a lot more fun rebelling than being the last prisoner. There just isn't any challenge involved in a last request that makes it worth while imo.

For the 5th time, there are climbs and random events. Getting out of cell block is solely the wardens responsibility. Even on maps with minigames, a lot of the time rounds will be repeated multiple times in a row and half the Ts will be dead before exiting cell block. This is why I've come to enjoy jailbreak maps more, because it puts your life in your hands. If you don't like getting freekilled or doing the same games over and over and over, you can rebel at any time.

Saying it will never happen is an understatement. I've seen it happen before where pubs were actually calling out vent window locations when asked and saying when they were planting the bomb. As many pubs and other players that like playing activities, there are a near equal amount that probably enjoy rebelling. As to the non rebelling Ts; it is a jailbreak map, and if they don't like getting shot when the bomb is planted they should pay a little attention. Theres been a lot of times when people think that the bomber didn't call out that he was planting in team chat, when in fact he did. Even if he didn't you can see the bomb on the minimap and notice its pretty far away. That's usually a good idea that something is about to go down. If you are rebelling, you cannot be freekilled or instagibbed by the bomb plant, so theres actually less to get mad about.

I agree with Monty. and also the map is just too easy to rebel on. It has no challenge to it and I love a good challenge. When it's so easy to rebel on, its no fun cause the round lasts like 1 minutes... and who wants to get shot every round because the bomb spawns in a vent cell.

I'm just going to close this as nothing productive is being achieved at this point in time.

A few things,

The map has plenty of things do: http://edge-gamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=205817

The map is not at fault for the bomb being spawned in the cells, Valve (Makers of Counter Strike Source) broke something awhile back that allows the bomb to not be stripped correctly and thus causing players to have it. I cannot fix this. At all. We must wait for the developers of Counter Strike Source, Valve, to fix this.

Lastly, the default map has been changed to ba_jail_molyneaux_v3b (Hopefully this is spelled right, my apologies if it isn't). Mainly this is because over the last two months that the server has been getting hit and crashing it has played the default maps (there have been two since the start of the attacks) way too much and thus, Counter Strike Leadership decided to change it to keep it fresh.

If you have any questions, concerns, complaints, comments, feel free to PM the Counter Strike Leadership.

Thank you,
Rogue Sniper
