I'm trying to buy some new gaming headsets what are some good ones out there

Turtle beach products are usually good. Some as low as $20 just depends on what you want to spend on them.

Any of the Z series Z2 and Z11 are reasonable.

I use the Z1's yeah thats right I went cheap.... and they work just fine better than the logitech I bought and paid 60 for those. Friend just Bought the Z2 though said he likes them. Plus we know you want something with a mic so we can hear that sexy voice

Myself and a few other eGO member use g35's and I love them. Paid $120aud for them about a year and a half ago and they're still working like new, even after all my rages and throwing them around =D.

My turtle beach z6a's broke where the earcup attackes to the band; shoddy plastic combined with 1 screw makes for breaking. After the second pair I got again broke, I bought some G35s. This was back 3 months ago, so its already outlasted 2 pairs of z6as. Metal with 4 screws>plastic with 1. lol.

You can get a real set of headphones for ~$50 which will sound many orders of magnitude better than most headsets under $200. It'll have better durability as there are too many threads about headsets breaking. Combine it with a clip on mic and you're done.

As a quick history I've used a ton of headphones everything from siberia/turtlebeach/logi headsets many of my gamer friends rock all the way up to a $5000 music system. I haven't seen one headset company that hasn't gouged the consumer and I think ignorance is a large part of that (kinda like Bose).

I've been rocking a clip on mic for a while and don't have any problems with background noise even in a busy gaming hall. I don't think I've ever had anyone complain about echoing - do you hear anything when I speak?

If you have the cash you can go for a ModMic . It's currently OOS and a new version is coming out in Aug, I haven't used this particular model but there are a bunch of happy owners.

G35's are a bit pricy for me so I would buy from $40~$80. Right now, I am using the Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset http://us.store.creative.com/Creative-Fatal1ty-Gaming-Headset/M/B002DS4HTM.htm $40 instore and $30 online. (I bought mine at Frys Electronics for $40)
Next, I have also tested out my other mic which was also good. The Razer Carcharias.

When I spend money (especially on gaming accessories), I try to save every penny of it and when people go out and buy 200$ headphones, it kinda bugs me but hey, it's your money. I'm using Gamecon Plantronics which were 25$ and it works very good for the price, mic quality is clear, sound is clear, but it's very uncomfortable.

I know the second one is a little pricey, but the first one works good too, just mine broke lol.

Unless you need the wireless for any specific reason, get the wired G35s, they are pretty much the same thing but lacking the wireless.

I need to wireless for parents as well. Mom uses it for business as well.

That's why my headset always breaks. She ruins the cords :/

But ya, I was thinking of getting that one too until she said she wanted wireless.
