Huge disappointment returning

I just returned to playing bfbc2 since about a year ago or so and have to say I'm very disappointed. I played here quite often with Orb and Beemer and many other great admins. Had a great deal of fun and the server was always a place I could come and enjoy myself without the cursing and team killing and other ignorant griefers. But I just logged in and I questioned what happened to the server because both Misfit and Horsepucky were on at the time and were allowing base raping and a completely lopsided game happening. Not only did their team have all 3 bases but they were allowing their team to repeatedly base rape. When I questioned what has happened to the server that used to be great I was told to shut up basically. Well I believe Misfit told me to Drop IT!

So this is what has become of Ego bfbc2 Great!

Not even allowed to ask what happened to the server that I could enjoy and thought was possibly the best bfbc2 server. I had a great deal of respect for the admins and often spoke to them in vent. Now I will not be returning. Yes I'm a member of e and I'm very disappointed. No my character named Korn is not but that is the new character I started when I recently returned because I did not want to play my 50.

Anyways I hope something will be done to return the server to the greatness it used to be. This is not the first time in the last week I have joined the server to be completely disappointed. Just the first time I was offended by an admin when I questioned why this was being allowed on the server and what happened to it?

Cause we are suppose to be mushrooms Korn. Alone in the dark not knowing what is going on. Its unfortunate and when we "junior members" speak up well we are looked at that we dont have enough "TI" to speak up and want help fix things. Thats the impression I am getting. When you have two seperate entities, the higher esc and the lower class and a very apparent break in communication well things go wrong. We have some first class players who have some "TI" or "time in" that have a level playing field with everyone they play with then you have the ones who look at you like the mud that is on the tread of you boot. I have noticed this in the short time I have been here. Even on vent when people are suppose to know who is who in thier own squad and not "some dude" or what is this !@#$% talking about" when you are looking for some help, some tips, some guidance or just acknowledgement that you are even there .Like I said I have seen some first class players who you want to game with and hang out and blow !@#$ up and then there are the others who lack tact. I have been doing this for twenty years now, twenty one this fall and I have been around the bend, in the !@#$ and have seen some things and observed.We "junior members" and the lower part of the totem pole are the backbone of every organization and when you neglect or treat them like dirt well thats when you see things fall apart. I have seen a few things in the short time I have been here in EGO but I will keep that to myself. I think even posting this reply I will be removed sadly from this squad because I may be a bad apple who doesnt know !@#$. As for razer"s remark for " soap operas" well its that type of attitude that makes organizations crumble, have consistent empty servers and so forth. Now for you guys and gals out there who are going to take this reply the wrong way (which some of you will) it is not disrespect in any way. It is an observation. There is potential here and I see it but we all have to be on the same playing field with one thing in mind.....
At the same time having some fun, some !@#$ and giggles and some good times that you will remember.I had that once when I played DF2 and I was with a squad from day 1 till the end. 10 years of some good people and good times.Now if this is going to be my last post because I ruffled some people feathers, I would like to mention a couple of people worth mentioning. PJordan for the help and tips he provided me in ban requests. He took the time and explained and show me. Thank you. Killercankill for helping me with vent and keeping on me to me to meet some of the clan in vent.There were a few others sorry never got thier names but thank you. Just so I am clear here this isnt a resiganation as I want to stay here but some people need to show some class, drop the "I am a full fledged member, stfu new guy attitude" and help people or at least observe the problem and jump on vent or a locked sqaud and find out what the problem is and correct together as a team.

Wrong. We're here because we joined a community to meet people to play and have a good time with. A community normally consists of friends who treat each other with respect, but frankly I've seen nothing but the opposite as of late. You can't just tell someone to post in the drop box every time they post an opinion you don't like or something that doesn't specifically involve a video game. This is an example of the animosity that has caused me to not visit our ventrilo and forums as much as I once did.

But on topic, I can see where you're coming from, Korn. At times it seems some members just want to play and wear our tag but don't care about actually fulfilling their responsibility, which is helping to keep the servers clean and making sure that eGO servers are a mature environment for all players to enjoy themselves.

It's disappointing, but I still have hopes that maybe some day something will be done about it.

And this "if you have a problem put it in the dropbox", I think it should only be if you have a problem with an admin or problem that you think advisors and up can fix. But if you're an e or eG, talk to an eGO or advisor.

Also ValorPride, the rules still apply to the forums so you might want to change the language, but I do understand what you mean and that isn't what I would call a new "problem". I would suggest you find an eGO or advisor you trust and talk to them about it and see if they could help.

I think the dropbox suggestion is not to "keep thinks hidden" but so that leadership can discuss and address issues without a mob emotional reaction to something. Or at least to try and keep that to a minimum. If you want to address something in a public way fine but try to understand that there is a proper way and tone to do it with. Just dropping a bomb out of the blue because you are frustrated frankly does not show a great deal of maturity in dealing with issues in a large collection of people. You need to pinpoint the people and activities that are causing your frustration and take that to leadership. Then if it is not addressed through proper channels then look into dealing with it in a more public manner. Even then however, i would suggest reigning in the emotional reaction a bit.

I have never seen this happen, but if it does, you should definately contact an advisor, DL, or Leftenant (via Dropbox or in Vent). They have the power to deal with things like that.

e's are definately not supposed to be mushrooms. e's are supposed to enjoy the game, learn their way around eGO, watch how G's and O's admin, and even admin when there are no G's or O's (the admining process is Warn -> Kick -> Ban, but since e's cannot kick or ban, its up to them to get in Vent or on Steam, after putting out a warning, and talk to someone who can)

Yes there are a few that wear the tag that don't really fit the ideals of eGO, but they are few and far between.

The main point of posting it in the drop box isn't to keep people in the dark. Its to make sure that THE PEOPLE WHO CAN do something can do it. There is no point in name dropping on these forums because then people get upset and it starts that "Soap Opera" mentality. The drop box isn't a place to hide things. If you want to hide something don't post it. The whole point of the drop box is so that leadership gets it directly and can start doing whatever they need to to fix the problem or work out a solution. It doesn't matter how long you have been here or how long you plan on staying. The point for it is so leadership can do something about BEFORE mob mentality kicks in and people play the blame game. TBH I'm surprised leadership hasn't moved this to the drop box or to their private forums, so they can start working on the problem. Next time before you raze someone about a post it in the drop box post find out why they said it. I usually stay away from these kinds of posts but it sounded like something that should have been posted in the drop box so leadership could handle the problem, because we can't other then come and admin instead. I fail to see how this drop box it attitude would crumble an organization, when leadership does their job very well. When we have problems they tend to jump on it and fix it unless it's not broken. The problem you posted to begin with needs fixing that's obvious, but the people to fix it are leadership not us.

I agree. Stuff like this shouldn't be kept in the dark. It is good to know what people think about us so we can improve any issues that need to be taken care of.

The thing is some of us see what goes on but we cant do anything about it. That's what the drop box is for. Leadership are the people that can and will take care of it. All we can do is continue to complain about it and do nothing but post it or we can take it to the drop box and have leadership handle the problem. While the rest of us can improve on this we cant change that opinion until the person in question changes and people see that. They see us allowing the problem to continue if it doesn't get fixed, but if leadership is notified they can change, fix, and/or remove the problem. All we can do is sit and watch or carry the extra weight.

I disagree. Look at the timestamps and it appears that the delay from warning to kick was several minutes, which is forever if a baseraper or two is running around. Horsepucky was warning, but he can't kick. He can only submit the ban request or try to find an admin.

The Heavy Metal server has had A LOT of new people playing in the last few weeks (school's out?) and is sometimes quite ruff and tumble with rules when there's no admin. Baserapers can knock the wind out of a team that lasts for 100 tickets or more, and during the four minutes (or more) that these guys were doing it, in my experience, at least as many players just up and quit with a bad taste in their mouth. Some may not come back because they think eGO allows it (impliedly at least).

What the junior members or non-admin members can do, while waiting for the admin, is tell the other team where the baserapers are. "He's behind the tank on the grass," "he's next to the helo pad," "he's near the windmill." If it's someone on your team, then he's on your map. Many members and non-members now do this routinely on Heavy Metal. If my team is being raped, I will ask them for help.

IMHO, if a member of any rank is on the game without an admin, and a baseraper is in their base, they should solicit help from the other team for location, and try to find the baseraper. Let the visitors try to play the game. Warn, solicit help, promise a ban request if they don't leave, then isolate and put the rapist down. As members, my own k/d is less important than the integrity of the server rules.

I disagree there are times when i know there is someone spawn camping but i cant get a name. I would warn but when it comes to kicking sometimes no one will give me the name of the spawn camper, thats when i have to drive to the edge of the enemy spawn and look at the spawn camper's name through my scope or if he/she is spawn camping my team i just stand in my spawn and wait to get killed.

this. Plus its only a 5 minute gap of Misfit trying to admin. That's not an admin allowing the rules to be broken.

Once again they weren't allowing the spawn camping it happen. We cant do anything about a lopsided game other then switch team and I know for a fact there are ZERO members that do this.
