We have one of the most fun games out there. It involves teamwork, skill, cooperation, and self reliance. But with most things in life, some people take it way to seriously; some take it too far. I'm just here to remind you that hey, its just a game. It is OK if you get free-killed, or if someone gets a head shot on you from the other side of the map.

Frustration is never good. Real life brings on stress, anxiety, not to mention social problems. Lets all face it, we've been there. But bringing that into game is unfair to all of the other players. We are all in here to have fun, to get away from real life. Just as you wouldn't bring CS into real life, for instance by walking into the grocery store yelling "fire in the hole", you shouldn't bring real life into the game.

If your having a bad day, or if your getting frustrated in game, take a break! Find someone to talk to, get some of the things off your mind. There are a lot of us here that are always available for a friendly chat. But the last thing anyone wants is someone going into the server raging and scaring away all the awesome pubbers, and even fellow eGO members.

To sum this up, there are people here, there's ventrillo, and there's other things then CS. Take a break, get some fresh air, and come back on later with a clear, relaxed mind, ready to have some fun! Everyone should be having fun, and if you find someone who could be a little more 'lax in game, offer some advice rather then signaling them out. We have a lot of great servers, with a huge crew of members working really hard to get them filled up. Lets make sure eGO servers are known for their fun and relaxed atmosphere, after all, that's the grounds Edge Gamers was built off of.

This is a great post. I've noticed this really about CS:S in general. Since you generally only get one life per round, people take it a lot more seriously, and get a lot more angry. People just need to chill out, its just a game, and you'll respawn within 2 minutes for a regular game, or 5 for jail.

Also, in regards to the second part of the post, finding someone to talk to is a great idea. Venting really does help. I'm always here for anyone. As someone who has battled depression for a number of years, I know what it's like. And I've found that the only way to avoid these bad feelings is just to relax, stress about the things that actually matter, and a game isn't one of those things.

Thanks Doom. I for one won't play Jail because of this very thing. Many times I've seen either myself or a newer player get yelled at and degraded for breaking a rule by mistake or accident. It isn't very fun to play somewhere and be scolded for making a mistake, especially on a server unique to our community like jail.

Good post, it was needed.

There have honestly been days where a rowdy game of Jail made me feel better. Shooting a CT gets so much more gratifying if you hate him first >:3
