I ultimately said Daniel Craig because he's quickly cemented himself as the definitive Bond in my opinion. My real answer however is slightly more complex. Each actor brought a different aspect to Bond.
Sean Connery of course has the benefit of being the first and because he's awesome in his own right.
Lazenby could have brought something to the table unfortunately he had to be in one of the worst written Bond movies IMO. At least Roger Moore's campy Bond seemed to make sense and fit Roger Moore as an actor although I wasn't into that Bond so Roger Moore is unfortunately not even in my running for the best.
Timothy Dalton was I believe the only Shakespearean trained actor and it really shows in his two movies. His two movies along with Goldeneye which IIRC was originally written for Dalton used to be my top 3 movies until Casino Royale as well putting him up there as what used to be my 2nd favorite Bond.
Brosnan was a good Bond that introduced the new generation to Bond unfortunately him being the more techy Bond made every movie written for him, considering that Goldeneye was allegedly written for Dalton, have to emphasize that to the detriment of the story in my opinion.
Daniel Craig just seems to embody a BAMF suave agent in my opinion. The relatively less extreme nature of his movies also make him a more believable Bond while still allowing him to be that BAMF dude.
If I were to do a top 3 I'd have to go,
1. Sean Connery/Daniel Craig (Okay so im kinda cheating putting them on equal ground)
2. Timothy Dalton
3. Pierce Brosnan( By virtue of Lazenby and Moore not being contenders for best in my mind)
And just for the hell of it my top 3 movies,
1. Goldeneye
2. Casino Royale
3. Goldfinger
