Repairing old pc

Hey guys I want to fix my old pc. I'm fairly sure the power supply is fried because the motherboard light is still on.So I need a new power supply 600 watt or higher. Also the power supplu has the PATA connectors only, and that is a big problem, but my motherboard will take SATA. I need a new graphics card like the 560 gtx. I'm willing to go a little lower only the graphics card if the price difference is substantial, but not to much lower. I cannot find out if my motherboard supports a 64 bit OS I checked the instruction manual but could not find out any were.

My motherboard is the either the IP35 or the IP35-E?
Under the instruction manual were would I find out if it supports and 64 bit system.
Hardware Setup, BIOS Setup, Drive & Utility, Multilingual QIG, Appendix.

I tried to got to the abit website for the motherboard, this is what happens. I type "www.abit.com.tw" and "Oops! Google Chrome could not find www.abit.com.tw" pops up evertime????? This is the exact website that the instruction manual has on it.

Okay. all you tech junkies are gonna freak on me.. lawl.. anyways I think that either the company just isn't around anymore or something.. try looking up your Motherboard in google. See if it comes up. if it's one of the old school type of stuff.. and can't update it in anyway shape or form.. might as well buy a whole new MB for it

Not really, but here's the the thing about your motherboard. It's old. But it's still usable. If you're not trying to make an awesome, elite gaming rig, then you can still use it to make a pretty good machine.

Here are the two motherboard you think it may be:

Immediate glance, they're both Socket LGA775. That means they can take a 64 bit CPU, which means you can run 64-bit OS.

Second, it is a bad design; why would they include a PATA port on a LGA775 socket is beyond me, but the good news is that they got 6xSATA (though technically slower) ports you can use.

Third, the best RAM you can use on are 8GB DDR2 800Mhz RAM. Anything higher, don't bother. But that's fine too (I would recommend 2x4GB DDR2 800 for this kind of gaming rig).

Synopsis: Mobo is old, but still usable. So this is where Gunblack > :chair: < Me

So PSU wise. You will need to have a 20+4, 24, or 24+8 pin PSU because that's what the motherboard requires to power. If you're not sure, just look at the long rectangular port where the PSU was plugged into it and count the connectors. Quick and easy recommendation based on 600 watt + price = Corsair CX600M

About $80 +$5 S&H. There are others you can go for that will be cheaper or more expensive (SeaSonic, OCZ ModXStream, Corsair TX series, etc.) but I'm just giving you a simple, quick recommendation based on what I can tell (which isn't much). If you want a more complete, and accurate recommendation, please provide all the hardware you'll be using, including the number of hard drives and such since we'll need that info to calculate what wattage you will need to have.

and honestly if your looking for the gfx card yourself? you're gonna need to know if your MB will carry it.. meaning is it a PCI-E

I think buying a new motherboard is better because the ram is $300 for 8 gigs if i stay with the old IP35-E.
