I am sometimes long winded with my posts and I don't know how long this one will be. For those of you who read it I sincerely thank you for your time and your company.
I can be a very disorganized person at times and this may or may not be reflected in my writing here.
I've made the decision to stop playing video games completely and entirely. I was speaking with some people and we thought it was rational and logical to just play from time to time. My fear is that this is not possible for me and any limitations I set will just become shorter and shorter.
Here is why I think this. 2 days ago I made the decision I didn't want to play games anymore. It was a rather aimless day at first but I had gotten a lot done. I applied to a multitude of jobs as my current one had slowed down significantly, I got a birthday present for my sister, I got 500 dollars richer, and I went for a run. After all that was said and done I didn't see the problem playing some games, it was a good day and the evening had just started.
Yesterday, I thought "ok I can play games after I accomplish some things". However my list of accomplishments were pretty meager considering all I really did was go for a run. While I may be wrong I am coming to the conclusion that I accomplished a lot two days prior because I had NO intentions of playing games at all period.
For those of you who can play games and balance their lives appropriately I don't seek to discourage you. For me it just seems that this isn't possible. I feel like I have a lot to accomplish and a lot to live for and if I spend my prime years playing video games it'll be a grievous loss. People like Wewo and Londonblitz who have lived their lives and accomplished things have a right to play games, but me i'm 23 and for the first year ever i've actually been alive.
I spent my earlier years medicated, smoking a pack a day, unhealthy, depressed and feeling like I was going to die. Playing video games at that stage in my life was the least of my internal struggles that I needed to fix but now it appears their time has come.
I don't know if i'll ever come back to them. Its sad for me because i'm at the stage where I think I could become really good.
I've met people here who I'd like to commend and to those who i've rubbed the wrong way i'm truly sorry.
Illmatic- Thanks for being my friend man
Gerbil- Don't treat her like a kid shes as bright as the morning star
Megs A Tagger- A heart of gold and a loveable personality. I wish you the best
Bruce Lee- Always someone to look forward playing with
Nuclear Cowboy- Thank you for always giving me the benefit of the doubt
Chilli Dude- Thanks for bringing me in and sorry if I ever disappointed
Blue Stealth- I always looked up to you and saw myself in you(sorry for the insult). I think we could have been good friends if it weren't for my own insecurities.
Suayngam- I'll miss ya
LondonBlitz- People probably wouldn't think we were friends considering we never see eye to eye on anything in public forum but I always modeled myself in your image and respected you highly.
There's likely more people I'm forgetting. I thank you all for allowing me the privilege of playing with you.
As for me i'll still be around on steam and in the forums. You'll also likely see me "playing Counter-Strike Global Offensive" as i'll still be reviewing the overwatch demo's they send me.
To those older and wiser than myself I would appreciate your input on my decision and those younger as well.
Farewell my friends
