How you found us. . .

I got the Orange Box for Christmas, and began playing almost immediately. So I'm playing alot, because Valve owns a fair amount of my soul, and after getting a vague idea of how TF2 works, I bop about from server to server, finding some nice places to play, but mostly little children who behave like ... well, little children.
Finally, I decide to try a custom map (too impatient often to wait for downloads), and the name "Lazytown" catches my eye. I hop into the server and (a) start to do better than I had in other servers, and (b) find that I really like the people who are playing here.
Someone (wish I could remember who. It was around 1/19 or 1/20 on the Lazytown server) starts giving the recruitment pitch, probably addressing someone else, but I started asking questions like, "so why would I want to do this? what do I get?" because it struck me as odd that a clan (normally a bunch of elitist pigs) would want so many people to join for free.
Whoever it was finally got fed up and said, "I give up. Just go to www.edgegamers.org and check it out" and left. I remembered it, came back here the next day or two, and liked what I saw. I signed up, and the rest was history.

I searched for low ping servers and found eGO. I first played when TF2 was still new, but never thought anything of it and played regularly on another server until it got crappy. So I came back and saw someone giving the recruitment spiel, so I decided to join.
Yay for thread necromancy! I'm not entirely certain why I connected to an eGO server in the first place, since my ping has always hovered around 100ms on all of them, and I'm usually a stickler for low latency. I probably couldn't find a good game on any others. Anyhow, I went on the 2fort server and it was full of eGO's, and the game ended up being really fun, with lots of friendly chatting going on. I recall having a really fun time dual-medic'ing with Pink Panther and taking on people we shouldn't have been able to kill.
I ended up putting the server on my favorites list and playing on it for a week or so, then I got curious and checked out the website. I've never been in an FPS clan before, always acting the transient loner hopping from server to server. Lately I'd felt like it might be nifty to try, after being in a WoW guild for a long time and making lots of friends. So I signed up.
On a side note, it was extremely early in the morning when I made my application, so I was half-asleep and read the app post too fast, and I didn't realize that I needed to wait for confirmation before throwing on the tag. That made for a funny moment when connecting to the 2fort server, which was full of admins at the time who were all puzzled as to who I was and why I was wearing the tag. Oops!

ive been a fan of TF since the begining and when i finally got my hands on orange box it came back to me like i was 16 all over again hoped into a few servers couldnt really get a hang for any peticular class till i hit ego warpath server and started tearin it up with medic, after a couple of days of playin i relized these are the servers for me to be at, after checking out the page and seeing how it works i joined im not big on clans but communities are awesome

I bought the Orange Box shortly after it came out. i was playing around with it a bit but never really was into it that much, then around Christmas time, i got a PS3 and The Orange Box for it. so i was playing around on it a bit and found out that Team Fortress 2 was awesome. then i decided to start up playing it on my computer, then one of my best friends, you may know him as Delrio, convinced me to join the clan. 
3 ways
1st: i was playing monopoly and then i land on community chest and i got the card that said go straight to edgegamers...do not pass go do not collect 200 dollars.
2nd. i was meticulously running around the class room when the teacher asked me what i was doing i would say bunny hopping and continued until i ran into the chalkboard that said edgegamers
3rd. played on the TF2 2fort alot till i joined.

I never actually played TFC, although I remember hearing about it. The game that I first really loved, was Quake 2 CTF, that's the one that had the grapple that you could shoot out to help you really fly around the map. I loved that game, even though I was on a slow dial up connection.
When TF2 came out, I bought it as soon as I saw the screenshots, as I really liked how it looked. I'm not a huge fan of 'realistic' shooters as I don't have enough patience to play those. I bought a reserved slot on a different clan's servers, but their servers were only full at night. I ended up playing at eGO whenever the other server was empty, and then over time I realized how much more fun I was having here. From there I signed up, canceled the reserved slot, and that's it.

Man, I think more games should bring back the grappling hook. That was an awesome tool. Maybe (crossed fingers!) that'll be one of the unlockables for .. I don't know ... an Engineer?

I had been a pretty serious CS:S player after getting it along with HL2. Clans never interested me much until I found a clean server that I really enjoyed. They weren't all that open to new members, however. Nice guys, just a bit of a closed group. I eventually played CS:S less, and clan membership dropped out of my thoughts entirely.
When TF2 came out, I simply played. Once again, I found myself more and more gravitating to servers where people were more creative in their communication than simply, "F--- that!" and "I pwned you!" Originally I was just on to play with Dangerdad and we hit a nice, low ping server. Since it was so clean and the people into pure fun, we marked it as a favorite and kept visiting. That was 2Fort, and after a while, Dangerdad was asked if he'd like to bring the [Kancho!] clan into eGO. We didn't think too much about it, as Kancho! was pretty much just a joke (for more, see the thread: http://edgegamers.org/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?33465.post)
Soon, however, it became clear that enjoying the environment provided on our servers meant being willing to actively contribute, and we signed up to become part of what I believe is the finest gaming community on the net. We've never looked back!

Hmm. Well, Monkeybits got Orange Box and played a little TF2 and one night I was watching him and thought it looked kinda fun. Then he made the mistake of letting me play for a few minutes. We thought about it for a few days, and then I made him buy Orange Box for me too. Turns out my computer's graphics card couldn't handle it but by then I was a total addict and needed MY game on MY computer so he bought a new video card for my computer so we could sit next to each other and play and so he'd actually get some play time in...
We hopped around a bit trying out maps. At first we thought [POT] Smokehouse was a riot, but the language and conversation got more and more unpleasant. We also found one of the eGO servers around that time, added it to our favorites and kept going back to play with Tigster and Forcystus, really enjoying how friendly the players were, and that there was no tolerance for profanity. We then found the 2Fort server and ran into KCBlazer and Delrio on the same team. That was a really funny night and we kept going back to it to play with them in spite of me getting sick of 2Fort. We were also enjoying the company of Crash and Osiris--both are very difficult to backstab but it IS possible...
Once or twice a week we'd have family time in TF2 with Dangerdad. We had our own little family group [Kancho!], consisting of Monkeybits(my husband), Dangerdad, Nice but Vengeful and myself. Dangerdad would come find us wherever we were playing. He happened to find us the night we were laughing our heads off with Del and KC. Then every time we signed on we'd find him there before us.
Late January we both signed on and noticed that Dangerdad had an =(e)= before his name. We immediately went and signed up and were thrilled at the opportunity to contribute to the environment we were enjoying so much.

Wow, Bubbles, you remember the details better than I do. There were several really great eGO members who were so fun to play with they pretty much convinced us this was the place to be. Tigster, get a mic! You're a hilarious typist, but we need you talking. =)

I actually found your the edgegamer servers shortly after installing TF2, i was always trying to look for a good mature server to play on. When i played CS:S i played on the GG servers and when i asked them about finding a good server to play on they said check out edgegamers.org so i checked it out, joined up and now i'm typing this.

I tend to be attracted to servers with clean or cool names, and =(eGO)= 24/7 Dustbowl looks pretty clean to me. That's all you need. So I joined the server and fortunately I found a great place well moderated with enforced rules. I kept coming to have fun and eventually was extended an invitation.
I thought about it because I had never been in a clan but from what I've seen, this one is different. Thanks to everyone for making eGO what it is today.

I played team fortress classic when it came out a while ago. I stopped playing team fortress classic due to several reasons. First, I didn't appreciate the constant profanity people used in TFC. I don't mind profanity once in a while but some people on the servers would constantly swear. Second, I did not appreciate the immature attitude some of the other players had such as constantly accusing other players of hacking when they got kill. Lastly, there were numerous times when admins would abuse their power and set players on fire and slap them for kicks. I remember one time when I was playing TFC that an admin would slay me everytime I exited the spawn room for kicks.

Once Orange Box came out, I knew I had to purchase it. I mean come on, it’s 5 games in one box. That’s a deal people! !amazed I also loved TFC and was looking forward to TF2. So when I started to play TF2, I bounced around servers that had the lowest pings. I had the same problem with the servers as when I played TFC, excessive profanity and immature attitudes. One day I stumbed upon the eGo dustbowl server and I really enjoyed the punk free environment. I saw the periodic message telling everyone that admins were needed and to go to the site. On top of that, membership is free! So I visited the site and the rest is history. I only play on eGo servers now. You can usually find me serving up some cake during the evenings PST in dustbowl.
I just want to thank all the people here in the organization for making the eGo servers such a wonderful place to play. I also would like to thank you all for allowing me to be a part of this. Finally, thanks for giving me the chance to prove myself by giving me more responsibility.
Long live eGo! Now let’s gather around for some cake.

I stumbled upon ego 2fort server when I started playing TF2. I was playing on a few other servers as well, but I kept coming back to the ego server because it is well managed and always have fun while I was there. It did not help most other servers are pretty much like old wild west. I ended up playing almost exclusively ego servers, and when Michael (Scott) asked me if I wanna join. I figured I play on ego servers all the time any ways so might as well join you guys. I played like a couple times a week before I joined, and now play everyday. I blame you guys! Never had so much fun playing FPS.
When I got tf2, I went looking for 24/7 map servers, so that if I felt in the mood for a map, it was there for me to play. I had a few maps left, and began my search for 24/7 dustbowl. So i looked and saw a lot of servers that matched what I was looking for. So I picked a random one, and i stumbled upon 24/7 eGO dustbowl. I got hooked on that map, and eventually joined the clan. Usually I'm not in to clans, and try to avoid them, but this time I felt differently, not sure what I felt, or if it was that ravioli I ate, but I decided to, and I see that it was a good decision.
