How can I go about this without a headset to communicate with?
I have jumped into TS and listened in and it helped some but it's hard to call out enemy positions and movements without a headset. I was going to pick up a pair of Siberia V2s but other things came up and it might be awhile before I can get them now. Typing in squad chat may work but my typing skills are slightly above caveman.

squad orders help alot :)

I do that when I realize I'm squad leader. Sometimes I'm too focused on the game to look down to see if I'm leader.

What about auto hotkey for chat? Or will PB FF detect it and kick me?

Generally speaking, it all depends on what your squadmates do - are they always using heli's, tanks, sniping, on the ground, etc.

With that, only thing that really comes to mind is the basic stuff (This is for BC2, some of these might not apply for other BF games)

- Spotting

- Repairing vehicles if they're using them

- Using tracer-darts

- Dropping Ammo/Health boxes & Reviving if they're ground/sniper.

Could be some others but those are the only ones I can think of

I do most of that which applies to BF4 and others, but I find myself playing with people not of edge who typically runoff and do their own thing. I have begun adding more Edge players to my friends list, so spotting, reps, revs, ammo, meds, and orders (if I realize I'm Sqdldr) is the general consensus of what should be done.

How to chat warnings in game though with slow typing?
I ask again what about Auto Hot key?
Is that something that PB and FF detect and kick/ban for?

Basically everything he said, spotting helps the most not just your squad but the whole team!
Also you don't need a $80.00 headset to communicate if you do not have enough money at the moment you can easily use a cheap microphone. (You can also use your ear-buds with mic on it from your phone if you have one!)

Best of luck and happy BFing.
