If you were a kid from the 80's to 90's, you will remember the Saturday Morning Cartoon block on the big broadcast networks. Saturday was the last day this kind of programming was aired.

Because it was not apart of the programing that was canceled, hence why no one was talking about it lol.

TLDR: Vortexx contract with The CW ended Sunday

I'm going to miss the Saturday morning toons :( long story short.

My heart is broken. I had so many fond memories as a child waking up on a Saturday morning with nothing I had to do except watch the morning cartoon blocks... kids now don't even appreciate it. I sound like an old man..

does no one remember the 70's a and 80's cartoons like fat albert, he man, gi joe, the original transformers Scooby doo, inspector gadget, yogi the bear, the jetsons, the smurfs , mighty mouse, popeye, the flint stones or fraggle rock

or am i the only child of the 70's ??

I remember most of those...sorry I'm just a child of the early 80s.

Edit: And now I'm going to have those theme songs stuck in my head all day. Thanks.

lamo Ezekiel and that's a bad thing because ??

and ya I'm a child of the mid 70's early 80's myself round the time of Saturday night fever with John Travolta and original Star Wars also to mention this was before cable TV even existed at all you had round 7 or 8 channels max if I remember right

Don't worry, I read the reddit post. People have mentioned Pokemon, TMNT, and others. If you read the reddit post, there are people talking about Sailor Moon, Batman, X-Men, ect. Nobody said this thread had to be limited too just Vortex. By simply looking at the reddit post, it is about the end of Saturday morning cartoons in general. Not just the one channel.

Also as I mentioned before, just because one person never had Samurai Jack in the morning on Saturday does not mean that I never had it. Nor does it mean anyone else did have something. With all the channels out there I would not be surprised if people have Naruto airing Saturday mornings for them. Let's just accept all shows, shall we? :)

Same here.

NOOOOOOO!!!! Animaniacs, TMNT, Transformers, G.I. Joe, X-Men, Bugs Bunny, The More You Know.........oh man.......America is Officially going down the toilet.

Well I started downloading the old school shows like Animaniacs on my desktop, so I could watch em when I want. Now of course, yes we all can reminiscense of our childhood days when we used to wake up early on Saturday mornings just to watch the Saturday morning cartoon block. I can relate to some of you guys who used to watch He-Man, TMNT, Animaniacs, and many more.

RIP Saturday Morning Cartoon block, you will be dearly missed. Now for my future kids, I will have to show them dvds of my childhood shows.
