What kind of CS:GO server would you like to see?

Why the hell would we get a 1v1 server so 2 people can play on it.

The arena can have more than just two. There are multiple 1v1s at once. If you win, you move up on the leaderboard and the opposite happens if you lose. Once time runs out or every arena has finished it places you against your next opponent. There is competition aspect for wanting to be number one and holding your spot.

tbh, none. we tried almost all. no one likes it. it would be bad if we wasted our time on csgo. People play css -_-

And keep letting this division go downhill? I'd rather keep trying in go to get new people

CS:GO is the future.

I would have killed myself if I said this a year or two back, but I completely agree with this statement. CS:S is, as much as I hate to admit it, dying and this division will die with it unless we move forward.

Everyone just needs to commit to the switch, honestly I HATED csgo when i first starting playing it, felt awkward and just didnt seem like cs, but if you commit to it, especially with all the new updates, it truly is a good game.

As much as I'd love highschool on cs:go, its not something people will actually play because of the MM system. Jail is a viable option, I know I would play, but I'm not sure anybody else would, as we've seen with CS:S jail. My choice would be 1v1 arenas. These are good practice for comp and also fun and competitive. I always fight hard to stay in Arena 1, and with people that I have played with for a long time, the competition will be even better. Anything normal, like deathmatch or rotation, will be neglected because there are plenty of other ones and people don't play community servers for those.

Anything but Jail. Sad to say, all of these people who want Jail will NOT be supporting the server. I hate to call everyone out, but it is just the truth.

They might be here for the first week or two, but I promise you that no one will be in it within 3 weeks tops. Just server filling isn't what people of eGO do nowadays.

Rough truth to say, but is the truth nonetheless.

Yeah, a jail server won't work. The people in this division have yet to prove to me that they are dedicated in filling ANY CS:GO server. Until that changes we won't likely see a CS:GO server work.

I mean sure the type of server matters, but the type of players and people who play on it really determine if it will succeed or not. The level of dedication just is not there as far as I see it.

That being said I would hope that the people in this division can change their attitudes and help make a strong presence for eGO in the CS:GO scene.

It because even though

we still have 5 servers on CSS and 1 CS:GO.

I can't play GO due to hardware limitations. I'm sorry I don't have i5s and AMD video cards. My laptop for college can only do so much.

Honestly, leadership (or someone) needs to encourage the change. Give some rewards for playing on GO. Make a new GO server. You have to take risks in order to improve. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

Malenskii, I'm frankly disappointed in you. Don't harp on the members. Honestly, its sickening. I'm sorry we don't meet your lofty expectations. We're human. Don't expect perfection. The dedication isn't there because the community doesn't support each other.

Honestly, CSS can be a training ground for GO.

Also, before leadership will inevitably edit this, please talk to me.

I'm sorry the truth hurts my friend. Should we not set our goals and aspirations high? If not perfection then what would you rather have me expect, mediocrity? Or would you rather have us be "just human"?

We need to set our goals high and work together as a division to achieve them. I simply was trying to cause a stir in some members by letting them know my opinion and well it obviously worked.

This division used to have a lot of dedicated members playing on multiple servers, attending high quality, fun events and just had an overall better sense of camaraderie. I would like to see it return to that state. That responsibility doesn't just fall on leadership, it falls on all of us.

I hate to say it, but Rob is right. If we do not successfully make the move, then CS will continually go down and down until it meets it's grave fate.

Get a scrim server.

We haven't done a tournament in a while, you should make a 2v2 or 1v1 tournament for csgo.

Let's keep the discussion civil and on topic please. We respect all of your opinions and it's good that everyone has an opinion, but there is no reason to turn this into a flame war and start harassing other people over their point of view. The purpose of this thread is to gather ideas from the community through collaborative brainstorming. Will you disagree with somebody? Yes. Constructive criticism is OK and appreciated, but keep it appropriate.

Alright.

I honestly think that we all should meet in TS or get input. Figure out what people like. We also need to include people outside the division.

That being said, since you deleted my posts which had valid opinions an ideas in them I'll state them again.

The division as a whole needs to move out of CS:S and onto CS:GO. As shown here http://store.steampowered.com/stats/

CS:GO has more than 10 times the amount of players as CS:S.

Our server filling hasn't done the greatest job and it's not entirely their fault. We're looking at the wrong type of servers. I, as a competitive CS:GO player, can't really play Minigames or Jail server for more than an hour tops. Nothing against the two types of servers they just aren't fun for me.

Since CS:GO has a way more competitive community than source I'm 100% sure there are other people who feel the same way. What do we do then? We should look for a deathmatch server or casual competitive server. What draws people in and keeps them around? Perhaps a skin giveaway at the end of each month for the player with the most kills with "X" weapon. Also, we'd have to get some plugins set up for the server to make it more interesting. i.e. pick a knife skin at the beginning of the game, perks to those with dedicated supporter, etc. Things that already work.

These servers tend to draw more people in and keep people around because they have a goal to reach towards. I mean if I could get the most kills with a knife in a month and win a Vulcan skin, heck I'd play on that server, who wouldn't?

Change your attitudes guys and start thinking towards where we need to go and where we will go as a division

As leadership has said before, the more downloads you add to a server, the less people will want to sit through the downloads and play.

No. All the top servers have multiple plugins. Leadership hasnt said that lol, that's the opinion of the majority of the community. Our server needs to be different then the others for people to stay.

If leadership has said this, which I have not yet to see, they would be wrong on the matter. Shocking I know. But most of the servers at the top have plugins. It works. Simple as that.

I've asked for one of these servers for way over a year now lol. I've recommended we model the "CaliforniaCS" server, which is classic competitive, because it is always filled with people except late at night. What are the responses I get every time I recommended it? "Oh we don't have a dedicated player base like they do so it won't work..." or "It won't work because the rounds are too long and people leave." Seriously? Competitive is suppose to be long and of course there isn't a dedicated player base BECAUSE WE HAVEN"T TRIED IT.

But in all honesty, no matter what type of server we try, it won't work. It won't work because every single time we change it, people only stay in the server and try to fill it for like an hour before leaving. Either that or it switches to a horrific map and everyone leaves anyways. Also, every time we try to fill it, everyone has their tags on lol. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but imagine being a pub joining the server for the first time and all he sees is a bunch of admins and maybe one other pub with him. I would be super intimidated if I was that pub and would probably leave.
Finally, as soon as that pub joins, there are like a million people trying to recruit him. I'm also not saying that recruiting is a bad thing, but to recruit a pub that has joined the server for the very first time makes it seem like all we care about is recruiting, not to have fun. I would say hold off on the recruiting until we have an actual pub base, unless the pub specifically asks to join.

Also the skin giving away thing, I've done that. Gave away a lot of skins to pubs that never came back. However I would be glad to give away skins monthly as prizes if the server actually works out. The knife pluggin is pretty popular in some servers, I recommend we try it.

CS:GO is the future. CS:S is a dying game.

Anyways, this is my opinion. I'm probably going to get criticized for something I said, but hey I've been used to it by now. Fire away!
