New Headset (suggestions/help)

So i'm in need of a new headset as some of those will know from me being on TS

These are some of the options that I have found on Newegg that I like the price and are wired etc, im not to found of the idea of wireless/bluetooth but I will consider it. Can anyone give me some feeback on these products?

i'd like to keep the price $100 or less if possible if you can find something else.

Of the three, I'm only familiar with Logitech, and I have a mixed view on them. Every single headset I ever bought from Logitech has broken within months. Not years, months. Longest life I had was about 8 months. I never heard of the other two brands, so I can't recommend them.

I did just buy one today from Amazon, which matches the price of the unknown second headset (Perixx)

If you ever go to a Best Buy, they should have one, hopefully a demo, so you can see how it feels. It's a lil snug for my big head, but feels comfortable. Amazon sells it for $40 whereas BB has it for $80 (and won't bother trying to price match until after Cyber Monday). 7.1 surround sound, $40, USB connection. I've had a number of Plantronic headsets and THEY have lasted over a year for me. Tried it on; has a volume rocker on the headset on the left ear cup, which makes it relatively easy to adjust in-game sound with. Also has a switch to turn on/off the microphone. Definitely felt a lot more sturdy to me, and I believe the last one I had was the 308 headset, which had a mostly plastic feel.

The only issue with headsets that are under $100.00, as previously mentioned by Snipeye, is that they tend to break within the first few months of purchasing it. I would invest into a headset that is over your budget if you want a good quality headset. The first headset I had was a Logitech, and it broke within 6 months of purchasing it. The current one I have is not Logitech, but it is called Gamecom, if I remember correctly. Good quality headsets will cost you a lot, but in the long run, it's well worth the buck. Try looking at either BestBuy, or Amazon. Those are the only two places that I know to get a gaming headset.

As i am familiar with headsets and gaming gear overall because i had chance to test alot of them out, i would definetly recomend these ones. The quality of the sound and the comfort is just incredible. Also the mic quality is really good. The only thing you may be concerned about this headset is (for some positive for some negative) that the cord is short. You can get the extension cord for 5$~ which you wont even need if you have a keyboard like razer lycosa etc. which provide pluging in the headset into the keyboard itself. This headset is also avalible with the USB PnP sound card which provides virtual 7.1 which is also very good.

The headset I DO NOT RECOMMEND would be logitech g35 and logitech g930 which seem to have a really low life-span and seems to start having issues within the first 6 months+with that price that shouldnt happen. Yes, the quality of the sound and surround is really good but its not realible.

HyperX Clouds by far the best sub $100 headsets

Lots of accessories
Extreme comfort
mic quality is good
All $80 headsets sound the same,

I own a HyperX Clound and a Razer Kracken Pro and the mics are the same, sound the same, but the build quality and comfort for the HyperX's are realllyyy nice.

My logitech g430's were $80 and are still going strong. They have been knocked on the floor several times, surviving a 9 and 7 yr old boys using them also. MYTH BUSTED.

I'm gonna disagree with this a little bit. The first headset I bought was about $40 and it lasted me 2 years despite being thrown on the floor a countless number of times. The only issue I had with it after 2 years was that the USB was loose in the port (which would've been an easy fix).

Now, it hasn't been 6 months since I got the G430 headset I have now, but it is a great headset. I was lucky enough to get mine on sale for about $60 and it's great. As CrossCheck said earlier, he recommended it to me and I love it. Definitely a great buy

I've tried them on and used them at a friends and I love them.
I got them on sale on NewEgg. They might still be on sale.

Please do not follow this advice. I will refuse and challenge anyone who recommends the G930's until they fix their battery shortage issue which has been ongoing since its release.

We'll see when I get mine. I know 4 people who have had zero issues.

I have owned over 4 pairs now. Dealt with customer service multiple times. Every time they explain it has been a very common issue with their headset.

I have a pair also. They are pretty trash for the price you are paying for them.

Less then a year in and I'm about ready to replace them. Had the battery go out. And now dealing with the faulty mini usb on them.

When they worked I loved them. But this last 2 months with them has been hell.

If you really want a logitech pair. Go for the wired ones. All the problems I had on my wireless ones has been with the battery/mini usb.

Its always the battery issue with these headsets. They always go bad.
