for me. it was either Disruptor for the PS1 or Duke Nukem:Total Meltdown. both were great games, and my own mother introduced me to Duke Nukem/FPS games. it was much fun playing that game with your own Madre.

So I figured I'd throw in Hexen and Heretic in here as well. I only had the shareware versions, and didn't play them too extensively, but it'd be interesting for some of the younger gamers here, just to school them a bit in the older/classic stuff . Actually, I'm not really all that old myself (23), but I think I probably started gaming earlier in life.

On a sidenote, it's a shame that I never got to experience Marathon in its full glory - never owned a Mac. I've only dabbled in it through the UT ported versions.

My God, I remember that game. I used to play that at least once every time I went to the old Tilt arcade at the mall where I lived, just for the heck of it.

For you old people, do you remember MIDI Maze and Catacomb 3D.

I started with Wolf 3D-> Spear of Destiny -> Doom
ROTT -> Doom 2 etc etc stop at Q1engine ->QW -> UTengine -> Q3engine ->ETQW->TF2
Man that was a fun game lol couldn't ever find people ot play with.

Wolfenstein 3D! Yes, that's right I said "3D"! I could hardly believe it when I first saw it too! (Following that, I played a LOT of Doom, still probably the best FPS imo)
