I cant believe I didnt find this thread before!
I love photography, and taking pictures, and I am especially fond of taking landscape/skyscape type photos.
A disclaimer before I start, I shoot digital and I process
ALL of my photos. But to some of you that say that processing photos is cheating, I say photo processing is just a tool of the trade. Think of it as similar to developing a photo in a darkroom. Some of my techniques include HDR and otherwise extreme adjustments to levels and contrast and the like, but I try not to take it overboard.
Ill post a short description of processing involved and let you judge for yourself.
Here is a small sampling of some of my work, I havent been out in a long time and need to get out again, but there is more where these came from, and if you like I can post a link to my deviant art page.
This was taken in atlanta back in january of 2006.
This was processed as a single shot HDR then tone mapped in Photomatix with a curves adjustment in photoshop and some layering techniques applied to adjust for brightness levels in different areas of the photo.
This was taken near Luray, VA
This was a 30 second exposure, curves and levels were adjusted in photoshop and a noise filter run through to eliminate long exposure noise.
Also taken in Atlanta.
This one had minimal processing applied. I may have used a gradient map, overlayed on the image to serve as a photo filter. Basic level and curves adjustments.
One last one for now...
Taken outside of Baltimore in Catonsville.
20 second exposure, levels and curves adjustments on individual color channels.
I will be back with more!
