So today I was hit by a random driver as I was walking home from class. I was in the middle of the crosswalk when the driver hit me head on. I seemed fine when I got back on my feet. But when I tried to look for the car, it was not there, it was a hit and run. Thank god the police station was close because when I made it in and told them what happened, the pain really started to set in. The officers noticed I was in pain and decided to call the paramedics. I told them "where it hurt", but the place I pointed to wasn't actually the place where I was hit. I did this because I didn't want people to worry about me and I didn't want to go to the hospital at that time and miss out on classes. So I denied any painkillers and a brace from the paramedics and went on my way to my home. But I actually examined my self more closely and noticed that I had a bruised hip and a dislocated kneecap. So I popped the kneecap back into place and laid down. I'm fine right now, just a little banged up. But I felt like I needed to tell somebody. Wish me luck!!

Wish you all the luck Shiznoe!!! Sorry to hear about what happened. I would still recommend you go seeing a doctor. For dislocated kneecaps you need to go to a doctor. When they pop it back in, your leg has to be straight and then placed in a splint. The best advice I could give you is to go to a doctor and at least get an x-ray. If you haven't placed it properly the ligaments and knee joint cant handle in the long run and you'll mess up your knee. I had a dislocated knee cap when I was smaller when I was snowboarding and a child with a sleigh cut my path and had to jump over him and tumbled down the mountain for a good distance. Went to the hospital, they placed it back in but poorly(was back home). Been having pain in my knee ever since-at the beginning in was only when the weather changed and for the past 3-4 years I've been having more and more pain until I had to do surgery. Even after the surgery I still have pain but it's like the way it was after recovering the first time. I get knee pains when the weather changes so I'm afraid that in the long run I'll have to do another operation. For now keep the leg as strait as possible and use ice compressions a couple of times a day and try to see a doctor if you can. The pain will subdue eventually but in the long run it'll be a pain and hassle.

I was certain this was a big setup for the greatest joke of all time - Now I feel bad.

As Helpless said; I think going to the doctor would be a good idea seeing as you dislocated your knee...

I'd imagine you'd be in a lot of pain as well, hopefully your recovery will be a breeze

Yea I know the feeling of what your going through. Seems like I'm not the only one with bad luck with hit & runs. But I wish you the best of luck in recovery, luckily I wasn't as injured as you were so I really do hope you get better. Getting hit is one of those things that sticks with you, and you won't forget it . Makes you realize how lucky you really are and how a normal everyday thing like crossing a road can be risky.

Hopefully you feel better soon! Definitely got lucky too. Can't believe when people drive away like that

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to make a doctors appointment now, hopefully on the down low. Thank you everyone!

Nuuu shiznoeeee:(

Good to hear your okay after all that. Take care of yourself.

Ouch. Definitely want to get that knee looked at. Hope you're better soon Shiznoe

Stay strong buddy, My aunt was a victum of a hit and run, shes fine but she is so scared of cars now that she porposely got her licence suspeneded perminatly, and when she gets in a car she scoots over far so the door does not hit her. It took her 6 Years to even get in a car.

You denied medical coverage for a high end impact. I'm almost certain the reason you seemed fine when you got up was because of your adrenaline.

It's like football and you just got hit by a train. If you get injured, always take it seriously. Especially because I know you're still young. You have many years to your body and your knees are vital.

Best of luck to ya mate. I do recommend seeing a doctor though.
