Hello everyone,

CS Leadership would like to inform you of an official addition to the jail rules. During a Terrorist's last request, the CTs are not allowed to cheat during the last request. All other rules regarding the last request will remain unchanged.

And now, the clarification. It has come to the attention of CS Leadership that players have been trying to nitpick, bend, or use technicalities whenever they can. It is your job, as a T, to look for loopholes when appropriate. If you are basing your actions of these technicalities, end up being killed for them, and then begin to complain, you are in the wrong.

As an example, imagine we are going to be playing the wipeout on Inception. The warden tells all the Ts to "get on a block". You, thinking you are clever, finish the climb area. You are killed and complain "you never said not to finish". That's true, the warden did not tell you to not finish. At the same time, the warden did not tell you to finish and you were killed for not following the orders of "getting on a block."

Another example is during movement commands. If the warden is requesting you shift walk to a location, and you begin to do something, such as bhopping or running, that allows you to move at a faster speed than the warden intended, you may be killed for this as you are not following orders. Griefing is another concern. Throwing flashes into a game, under any sitaution, is not allowed.

So, what should you take from this post? No cheating during a Ts LR! And stop trying to bend the rules and look for technicalities every chance you get. The game is no longer fun when players and admins have to discuss for 5 minutes over why someone's death was not a freekill.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Bhopping. Inb4 people get the idea jumping in general isn't allowed again.

I'm glad to see leadership has been working hard to clarify all these questions and creating a definitive rulebook, great work.

I worry about this new "clarification" and it's intended purpose. Jail is about CT's trying to keep order, and T's trying to destroy it. However they can, with whatever loopholes they can find. While I don't play Jail the most, I do feel like I need to voice my opinion because I do play on it at times.

Let me give you a situation based under this new context, the exact same one you used might prove to make things simpler.

"Another example is during movement commands. If the warden is requesting you shift walk to a location, and you begin to do something, such as jumping, that allows you to move at a faster speed than the warden intended, you may be killed for this as you are not following orders."

So basically, this is saying that No Jumping, and No Crouching are now as automatic as no detouring and no delaying. I play as T so that I can find loopholes, but I realize that if I get killed for them that I can't complain (Well I can, but I understand it won't amount to anything).

As admins, we accept responsibility to work on the server to provide a great atmosphere for our players, which we do a fantastic job of by the way, but this just seems a little bit lazy. It's like, someone T-baiting on TTT and then complaining about getting RDM'd, it's a tedious task to Private Message the person that they weren't freekilled, or to discuss it with the admins, but it's a job that I take responsibility for, and I think all of our admins are willing to take responsibility for.

Its not saying no jumping, and no crouching. If a Warden tells you to shift walk to climb and you crouch walk or bhop to climb, thats not following the rules. If a Warden tells you to get to climb, and get on the first block and freeze, then you are free to shift walk, crouch walk, bhop, duck walk, twerk, etc.

This stuff was already understood, I feel like this clarification is just confusing things, at least it is for me. I can hold shift and bhop at the same time, in which I'm not breaking any rules and should not be killed unless Jumping is explicitly restricted. If you want to enable it for this scenario, you have to enable it for all scenarios or else things start to get messy.

Also, no cheating is not implied, if the warden tells me we are going to be playing climb and to get on the first block, but does not say no cheating, then I can start because it is false starting/cheating.

.

You are breaking a rule, at least I will kill you for it. I told you specifically "Shift walk to climb" If you bhop, you arnt walking. Thats the main point. If the rule causes more problems than for what its intended for, we will remove it.

You also have to realize this is a game and we are all just playing to have fun. You and many other people are starting to treat Jail like it's a job where every single little thing has to be spelled out for you and specified. This detracts from game play and makes it a headache for admins and others who want to just play. If you get killed for thinking you're smart and you're wrong in your actions, don't do it the next round. Don't complain every time something doesn't go your way. 2 years ago we didn't have these constant complaints. I don't know why it changed now, but again, look at this as a game, not a serious test of clarifications.

While I agree with you, I feel the need to note that, yes, these complaints were as present then as today, unfortunately it just tends to come with the territory.

I personally don't remember seeing it appear as prevalently. Although the complaints back then weren't non-existent, they were not happening every 5 to 10 minutes about nitpicking technicalities. I understand it is human nature to complain and try to find a winning solution for their argument, but the game play factor has been diminishing more and more recently.

Exactly this. I even edited my main post for that and to include running as well. Please read the context of the post before making comments. If you have any questions, please contact a member of CS Leadership.

Wait, so I if I tell someone to jump twice as high as me, and they don't, they can knife me right?

Shift walk does not mean you literally hold shift. It's a general term to describe the default of walking in Cs:go without being crouched. Thinking you can bhop because you are holding shift is incorrect. Bhopping is a different, advanced form of movement that allows movement faster than running when done correctly. Nobody in any version of Cs will say you were shift walking when you are Bhopping.

I agree, he's just saying that you cant walk and jump at the same time.

Pretty sure you should mainly be running, else you are delaying.

This doesn't apply to me. I'm a little rascal and always rebel hahaha

Thanks for the clarification :)
