To me being a member of eGO means representing an ideal of what online gaming should be: fun, respectful, and mature. The anonymity of the Internet makes it easy for people to act in ways they would never get away with in person and brings down the quality of the medium for everyone exposed to it. eGO is taking the high road and being an example of principle while having just as much, or more, fun while doing it.

There's something inherently special about Edge Gamers. Despite our open recruiting policy, we seem to continually attract mature, dedicated members who put community, teamwork, and fun before "leetness", and who replace the oh-so-common trash talk and put downs with encouragement and, of course, our ever-present institutional sense of humor. Fake rivalries, melee sessions, and off the wall jokes blend with serious teamwork and equitable admin policies to make eGO servers a very special place to play. Being a part of Edge Gamers is like having a second family, and despite our massive size in several games, we have the feel of a very tight-knit group of friends, and indeed, our common goals and shared interests have made us just that. Edge Gamers isn't a clan or a guild in the sense that most people think of; we really are something special. We haven't just signed off on the rules, abiding by them out of a need to comply with the group. We are Edge Gamers because we agree with those standards, and indeed, wouldn't want it any other way. Edge Gamers offers a gaming world free of punks, hackers, trash-talkers, and immaturity (well, at least the bad kind ) and for many of us, going back out into the world of pub servers sounds downright unappealing. Edge Gamers is a special community, a group of very unique people with some very uniform standards of conduct, which we strive not just to uphold, but to personify. That, to me, is what makes Edge Gamers so special.

Edge Gamers is a wonderful group of like-minded people. I've played many online games and have left them all for the exact same reason: too many punks. When I began playing TF2, I played a few other servers before I found our 2fort server. No matter what, I always came back here. The caliber of person that is attracted to our group is outstanding. Punks, hackers, griefers... they're all dealt with swiftly, and usually permanently. I greatly appreciate the fact that anyone I see wearing any eGO tag can be dependable to act in a respectful and appropriate manner.

If I may, I'd like to point out Dopey. Dopey had some problems, to be sure. The thing is, he was willing to work with everyone else, and everyone else was willing to work with him. This shows an unbelievable amount of maturity you just won't find anywhere else, on the part of EVERYONE involved. Dopey has made some incredible strides, and I hope he continues in the right direction.

One of my favorite things about Edge Gamers is the intra-clan scrims. I like to think I'm a decent player, but man... I've never been destroyed so thoroughly by a single group of people who are LEGITIMATELY good. I love the fact that the different member levels can compete against others for bragging rights, I love the mock rivalries (Mentals vs. Ninjas!), and I love the camaraderie involved in every aspect of this group.

I am a member of eGO, and I am proud of that.

I hate whiny spoiled little 'leet' punks who think the world owes them something and anyone with less than a 3:1 ratio should leave. It was nice to find a place where I was rewarded for that.

I've a short attention span for this type of game, yet I find myself still playing seven months later and can only attribute that to the community. I don't always agree with the management, but as long as a punk free community remains the underlying goal then I'll be eGO.

To me being an Ego member means you play with the upmost dedication to the game and mostly the organization. The comradery that is offered here is untouchable by anyother clan. I have played many games in many clans and this one is by far the best. I am proud to be an Edge Gamer.

I’m a college-educated, family-oriented guy who happens to play video games as a hobby. The idea of joining a clan never even occurred to me. Why waste time on a childish organization when I can just play the game?

My attitude changed dramatically after an evening of gaming on eGO servers and visiting their website. Even the kids here are responsible people dedicated to providing a clean, fun environment where anyone from teenagers to grandparents can come and have fun. I joined up.

It’s common to hear someone from our community will be reducing their activity for a time to study for their State’s bar exam, or going off to do their residency to finish their M.D. These are the kinds of people this clan attracts, yet everyone feels comfortable here no matter what their background because eGO creates an egalitarian environment where everyone is valued.

I play 99% of my game time on eGO servers. I visit the site more times per day than any other website. I write for the community and am delighted to volunteer time to making sure it runs smoothly.

What does eGO mean to me? I could spend the discretionary time left in my day after work and family obligations are taken care of on any number of things. I use it in this community because it’s a quality group of people that make an amazing organization. There is no higher compliment than to say: this is worthy of significant amounts of my time and effort. eGO is all that and more, as evidenced by the popularity of our servers and website.

Most online games have that "Notice ESRB Does Not Rate Online Play." Which is basically a warning for graphic content and language. True TF2 has violence, but I can say without a doubt we could get a T rating for our servers and be the exception to that rule. I love how everyone who joins has a chance to become an admin without paying a fee. Those who pay fees can do whatever they want and ban for any reason just because they got killed by a pub. Here is different. It takes maturity and leadership to be an admin. As admins we set and example and run clean servers. Of course you get the small minority who gripe about our admining techniques, because they just like to cause trouble and can't stand the fact we are more mature than them and don't put up with it. But I have received more Thank Yous from pubs for getting rid of the punks. This is a place where people can play and have fun and not have to worry about people ruining their games. Not to mention we do things a lot of clans don't. We have road trips, scrims, and nights just to get together and mess around and have fun. That is why I joined eGO, and I'm glad to be a part of it.

To me, being a part of the EdgeGamers Organization is like being in a second family, in which may have their issues, but at the same time, we enjoy each other's company. A group in which, likes to come together and unite regardless of age, gender, race, and anything else that people make matter in the real world and make those things look smaller than a decimal.

I remember coming here just because I wanted to be in a clan so badly, but didn't understand what it entirely meant to be in one, let alone eGO. I may have been somewhere else now, but with a little bit of guidance *erhemBaroncough* I was able to adjust and become the happy-go-lucky, always in the mood to play guy most of you see today.

For the short time I've spent playing online multiplayer FPS games, I wouldn't trade my experience with eGO for anything, and that's from the heart

Monkeybits found the eGO servers and mentioned that they were clean. I started playing, and really enjoyed the quality of play as well as the environment. I hate profanity and porn sprays and I loved being in an environment that's clean and fun.

I remember one night when someone was swearing on an eGO server (2fort I think). I asked him to quit and he just mocked me. There wasn't an admin around to get rid of him so I switched to the other team and dominated him.

It was at that moment that I signed up with eGO. I realized that if I wanted the good environment, I needed to work to help keep it that way.

So to me, eGO means "ownership" -- which means responsibility. I'm not just dropping in, I own part of the environment. If I own it, I need to take care of it. I remember after I bought my house I saw a divot in the lawn, and realized I needed to fix it. I had more desire to fix it because I owned it.

Since joining, I've kept more in touch with my brother and sis-in-law (Monkeybits and Bubbles), and I've met a lot of great people. And of course, I have the privilege of playing on clean and fun servers along with the responsibility of keeping them that way.

To be honest, it's hard for me to find groups into which I mesh. There's either this issue here or that quibble there that causes me to disassociate myself from most groups. I was in such a situation when I stumbled onto an eGO server entirely by accident.

I had discovered the Convoy server when I was browsing new and exciting maps to play (read: ANYTHING but vanilla!). I hopped in, and noticed immediately the rules list, which I admired right off the bat; at any rate, while I was playing I met some cool folks who were actually not part of the clan. Because of this, actually, I continued to frequent this particular server. Once of the guys I was "pubbing" with (Prince Abu, actually) told me that the clan that owned the server was recruiting. After some coaxing, I joined up as a lark. The last clan I belonged to was all but inactive, and I had no other leads on which to go. After joining was when the reality of the clan first hit me.

I was inundated with welcomes from other new recruits and council members alike. They made me feel like my joining actually mattered. As I played and became more involved, I found this to be true. If this clan matters to you, you matter to the clan. This was unlike any other experience I have ever had with a group of people, period. And it continued to be reciprocal. Because of the welcoming I received, I tried harder to help the clan. As I helped the clan more, the reciprocation grew as well.

I have found friends, buddies (there is a difference, yes), and even mentors in this group. It may sound odd, but I've tried to take the life lessons I've learned with eGO and have attempted to implement them in my "outside" life. You know what? It's been working!

In all, to me eGO means a caring and tight-knit group of people who truly care about one another AS people. It's a unique experience to see and feel, and I hope every single one of the members get a chance to feel the same way.

I used to be part of a different gaming community. I was a Council member, an elected guild leader, and head of the novice aides for two years. It was a good time, but I was eventually driven out and away by the perpetual drama and power-hungry members who wanted nothing but personal gain.

I never thought I would join another gaming community, but my views completely changed when I found the eGO servers. The members are friendly, the admins are stern but fair and fun. I found the servers to have an atmosphere of excitement and entertainment rather than and stress and drama.

It amazes me how much I've grown attached to Edge Gamers. I've only been here two months and already I've made so many new friends and have had more fun than I ever though possible. I've played TF2 since the beta and could not imagine I'd be having this much fun this long after its release. I have Edge Gamers to thank for it. From the servers, to the forums, to the chatbox, to Vent and to IRC, there's always an interesting person to meet and a clean, fun time to be had. That, above all, is what I love about eGO.

What does it mean to you to be an Edge Gamer?

It means that I get to be a part of the best gaming family that one could ever have. It means that at the end of the day I have a group of people that are there to help alleviate my stress and just have fun with. It means that when I enter a server people recognize me and are genuinely concerned with how I'm doing and vica-versa. It means that any time of day or night we have people around the world that are always ready to play a game with you, even if it's 1v1 in attempts to populate a server. It means that I am associated with and play on the best servers, not only on TF2 but on any other game as well. It means that we don't even have to play TF2, we can talk about sports, music, the weather, movies, art, or anything else that we may be interested in. Finally, It means that at the end of the fight, win or lose we're all one in the same, we're =eGO=, the best of the best, both in terms of our servers and our people, and if nothing else it means that I will always have a place to go and hang out with my friends and that means the world to me.

Early into Team Fortress 2, I would find VERY few servers that didn't have a fire-spitting 15 year old insulting everybody whenever he killed someone, or got killed, for that matter.

Then, in a stroke of supernatural luck, I found eGO, which has been the best time of my Gaming life.

So, what does eGO mean to me, eh? eGO is more than just clean servers and alot of friends, eGO to me, is a state of mind. Rather than think about eGO, I feel eGO, I feel it as a place where I can go, and not have to leave due to indignant kids, eGO is a place where I can feel accepted by others and talk on the mic, as I'm not a big fan of swear words(and never have been) rather than sit and click. eGO to me, is a wonderful clan.

eGO to me, well, its a lifestyle.

I never really knew that I would ever want to join a clan. Before I discovered eGO, I never played on the same server twice. I only experienced the game on a superficial level where people only cared about themselves and never committed themselves to teamwork. I've been on servers before that had no rules, no admins that cared, and no respectful players. I almost believed that online gaming communities were filled with dirty people with no lives, and whenever I left a server, I told myself, "That was a waste of my life."

In eGO, I gladly can prove myself wrong. I love knowing that on the other side of the server, there is another mature player just like me that cares about teamwork, having fun, and playing responsibly. This is a very rich and exciting community that is EXTREMELY active. There is no discrimination, and everyone in the community is drawn here by the love of the game and a desire to positively maximize each gaming experience. In fact, if I never joined eGO, I would have quit online first-person shooters by now.

The only complaint that I have is that servers that host scrims fill up REALLY quickly. But then again, that just shows the unity and dedication of the community. Even when there aren't scrims, pubs frequent our servers.

Whenever you buy an online game, you are taking a risk. You never know who you'll be playing with or what the game online community will be like. Yet, joining eGO minimizes that risk and allows the player to play with like-minded players to have the most fun on servers.
