What does it mean to you?

I don't remember too well how I came about finding the server. I, as I know a lot who arrived here, were tired of the immaturity of other servers, other clans, etc. Something about this clan caught my interest very early. From playing on the DoD server, I really didn't make many friends, and I kept to myself. but when I made the shift to TF2, I fell in love with the clan, and the people in it. I still remember playing with Bubbles and Monkey, before they joined. It was always a good time, no matter how my day went.

Being a member of eGO means a lot of things to me. I feel like a brother to everyone in the clan, as though we are one ever growing family. I can always rest assured that if I had a bad day, I can hop into a server, and end up crying from laughter at the hilarious and awesome people that play. I feel welcome here, at this haven, this escape from the morally void areas of the games.

And to this day, I still love this clan, and the foundation that it was built on. I know if I hadn't joined this clan, I wouldn't be any better off than the punks that roam the other servers. I owe a lot to you all, and I feel as if I don't give enough in return. I try to admin to my full ability, and follow in the standards of the server. I know I've been up several times til 5 am playing, and keeping an eye out. I owe that much.

I'm dragging this out too much, but I could go on and on about how much I appreciate you all. You all definitely had a big impact on me, even outside of gaming, and I hope I can return the favor. You all are great, and I love everyone of you. and having that bond, and welcoming newcomers with open arms, that is what being a member of eGO means to me

Resistance is futile? Nuff said?

Well, almost... I joined the eGO community after I was barraged with demands by a bunch of people on Convoy. (Yes, I was...assimilated.) But assimilation aside, I've had some of me best gaming experiences so far in Edge Gamers thanks to all the cool and interesting people I've met and killed. I consider eGO my home on the internet, and as Monkeybits said in his post, I end up checking this website more regularly than me email or anything else. eGO servers are my escape from the real world, and it is definitely the best place to have a good, clean gaming experience.

I've only been here for a short time but I can already tell I chose the best clan out there. Everyone is friendly and helpfull regardless of rank or any other supericial things, including how silly your questions may seem. To me eGO is a good representation of what online gaming can be but rarely is Good, clean and fun.

I came for the good ping, but stayed for the great people.

I believe that an eGO gamer displays maturity, integrity, and sportsmanship. They are devoted to their clan and the punk-free gaming cause. He keeps it clean, and accepts losses; he only learns from his mistakes and vows to do even better next round, and does not let the defeat bother him. He works as a team player, finding his niche on his team and allowing his teammates to perform their duties effectively, as well as providing assistance when they need help. An eGO gamer does not use exploits or cheats to gain the upper hand; skill, talent, and devotion are sufficient.

I first noticed the servers because of the wonderful stats system and map selection. After many hours of play, I was invited to join the clan. I was pleased to find that the clan values clean, fun play. I was tired of servers full of swearing, unsportsmanlike punks who ruined the fun of the game; eGO represented the exact opposite. I play just about exclusively on eGO servers now; I love the environment and atmosphere, along with the lower ping.

I know this is kinda late, but I had an epiphany last night and wanted to share.

Edge Gamers is really such a small blip in the vastness of the world around us and I know this is going to sound very sappy and maybe a little far fetched to some, considering it is just a gaming community, but I feel that eGO is truly a utopian environment. Everyone is so accepting, no judging people based on their age, gender, color, religion, appearance, or whatever else has ever made you feel discriminated against. You aren’t made fun of for saying something stupid, in fact at times, I actually think you’re encouraged. :) You don’t have to deal with a barrage of insults when you accidentally uber the medic next to you. (I know that one from personal experience, thank you very much! :) ) You are respected and accepted for who you are, not what you are.

When you ask a question, you have about 5 responses within the hour. When you have a little bit of bragging to do, you have about 20 congrats within the hour. When you just want to be silly, you have a multitude of people laughing along with you. And when you just want to have fun, the servers are full of people waiting to play.

One of the things that really struck me was how many young people are members. The idea that there are still kids in this world who actually want to be nice and responsible people gives me so much hope. To know that we, as a group, can somehow be an example to these kids is an awesome and amazing responsibility. We prove on a daily basis that you don’t have to be mean, degrading, condescending, or bullying to have a good time or to feel better about yourself. It kind of sucks that the rest of the world hasn’t figured that out yet, but who knows what can happen in time.

I also think we are actually making a difference in this world. I know people say there is a difference, a separation, from our virtual world and the real world. Of course there is a difference, but don’t the good feelings you get from here carry over and effect you in the real world? I’ve read other people’s comments about how they have really changed their attitudes toward people in general because of the atmosphere here and considering we have players from all over the world, imagine how many people outside of this game and this clan are touched by our positive attitudes every day. How can you not be bursting with pride when you think about that? Thanks for welcoming me as part of this community, this utopia.

Peace out ma homies! Game on. :)

Ok after about 20 minutes of chatbox name that tune, I can now assuredly say that for me eGO means fun.

Pure, simple fun while allowing others to have the same. Sure it's no fun to stop and bust punks - but fewer punks means more fun the long term. It's all about the fun. The community, the clean servers, the events, the divisions all boil down to fun. Can't say it enough.

Good day and have fun!

Being in eGO gave me a better community to play in. Before joining i would always play on the servers mostly Dust Bowl and would watch as the clan members would take care of their own. So i joined and found a great community wiht lots of people dedicated to the same stuff as me. So Edge Gamers to me is great servers, great comunity, and no bull.

I did competitive gaming for a few years. I liked the competition in it, as well as comparing my skills and my teammates' skills to other people. The only problem with the competitive gaming was that you had to deal with a lot of trash talking. With trash talking usually came excessive harassment, lots of foul language, and complete disrespect. I could never play one particular game for very long, because all of the negativity it presented from the people who played it would eventually deter me from it. I started to lose interest in FPS games, because of all of the stress that was presented with them. Lucky for me, I found the eGO servers at the right time. Right when I was the least happy with my recent feelings towards these games, I stumbled onto the DoD 24/7 Kalt server. Ever since then, I haven't looked back. One of the first things I experience on that server was when someone started swearing in chat and being very disrespectful over the mic, they were banned. The server kept chugging along, and nobody payed much attention to it. Everyone seemed to know each other and they were simply having fun playing DoD. That was what I missed most about games. The fun. Video games are supposed to be a form of entertainment, not an outlet to stress. Here at eGO, the main focus is to enjoy playing whatever game it is that you are playing without having to worry about all of the things that are there to distract you from having a good time. We preach maturity here and nothing else. We don't care where you live, how old you are, or what your beliefs are; we simply care that you are mature enough to play the game without acting foolish. Troublemakers sometimes come into ours servers and give us the old "This game is rated M!". I totally agree with each and every one of those troublemakers. This game IS in fact rated "Mature". We simply uphold that in our servers as a standard to be lived up to. I have never had so much fun playing games as I have these last few months with eGO, and I wish to continue to have fun with them for as long as people are search of a place where they can peacefully enjoy themselves without stressful distractions.

Ya know, after reading everyone's responses, ill admit that its really hard to say something when it really feels like you wanna go +1 on another clanmate. In reality, its not about that here. With eGO, its all about the community, friendship, maturity, & helping your fellow gamer (in 1 way or another). I have to admit that ive never felt so accepting along with the fact that with this clan theres more than 1 game to play games on, so gaming with the clan doesnt get boring so easily. Another great thing is the fact that we can joke around with each other & the joke doesnt turn into a backstab or talking about someone behind their back, thats 1 of the great things about the maturity factor with this group. Finally, id say that the following really says it all: everyday that were in the forums playing this game or that game, we always go on the edge of it all to make sure that everyone has fun (the BIGGEST key ingredient of it all).

I have been with eGO now for about a month, I have had nothing but warm welcomes and clan related fun.
I must admit of all the clan's I have played with Ego is by far the best.

An eGO member is made up of many things, to be an eGO member means you have the skills to be a team player, respectful, trustworthy, proud, and an all around good person!

To all the eGo member's out there be proud of your roots!!!

I used to play on whatever server i found that had players, running 24/7 2fort and a low ping, lol. Ever since i found an EGO server I have never played on any other server.

I love playing on EGO servers and with everyone thats apart of this great group! Its great having such a good bunch of online friends. I am a christian so I dont use profanity or engage in "flaming" other people. Im a pretty laidback guy so I really dont get flustered. I have found that the environment that EGO upholds on its servers goes right in line with the morals that I strive to maintain. For that I wanna say thank you to the great people that keep this place running and put in all the hard work that they do to keep these servers online. Im glad to help keep the servers clean and punk free!

Im only saddened that I only have a limited amount of time available to play and be apart of this group. I want to contribute more to the group, but my life is pretty busy so I usually only get to play and check out the website a few times a week. Even still those moments are certainly highlights of my week!

Thank you EGO! Game on!

Found the server when I was starting TF2, was impressed with the level of zeal they enforce their rules, and was happy I found somewhere where my younger brother could also play. I was asked to join by someone, figured out that we had more servers than just dustbowl, and have played here ever since.

I joined because I was asked, and because I checked out the website. I hadn't really given much thought to joining a clan, but decided to join this one because of the values and commitment intilled by its members, and wanted to help populate the servers. This is a great place to have fun playing TF2 without worry of troublemakers because the admin are usually on top of it. Without the admin being so responsible, these servers wouldn't be nearly as fun as they currently are, so kudos to their efforts. I also find the competition is better than many other servers I've played, probably because gamers know there won't be the troublemakers found on other servers. I have also grown quite fond of working and coordination with other e's in formulating attacks and defenses, something else that is lacking on most other servers, and the comradery is great. This clan is great place to be, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

It feels like more of a community other than a clan or "organisation". Like a place to just lay back and chill.

Plus made me so dedicated I decided to buy CS:S today just to play on the ego servers.

What Edge Gamers Means the most to me is the rock solid dedication that these players give out there for the clan. They're loyal, observant of the rules and like to have fun. It's what mainly persuaded me to join up! I guess, without that solid commitment to the clan, the clan itself would be nothing, because the structure of a clan is the dedication and the loyalty of the players.

Okay, I thought of it, and (sorry if anyone already put this) I have another reason.

Edge Gamers is a place of opportunity.

Think about it.

Yes , most of us do this when we play.. we use the taunts to mess around and make people laugh thats why it was so apt.. and I was a bit restricted finding something with a z... but I think it fits perfectly when you think about it. I remember being on a server with Carmine, that was one completely crazy pyro and the only person I ever ubered, just to go and taunt the other team.

I've been playing TF2 since a few days before it was officially released. In all my off-and-on playing and server-hopping, I never found a really good place to play. All the servers were full of people with no concept of teamwork or friendliness, nobody wanted to help anyone but themselves, and there was never a sense of community. I'd rarely see the same people twice, and if I did, I usually only remembered them because the last experience had been a bad one.

Then, I visited my first eGO server in December of last year, way back when there were only a couple of servers. Dustbowl, it was. It was amazing! People worked together. People spent more time playing and less time talking trash or arguing. I played there more often, saw the same people, made friends. When I saw the admins act, they were professional, and didn't abuse their powers for any reason. It made TF2 a completely different experience. After only a couple of days, when asked, I joined the clan. Haven't regretted it one bit.

Being a member of eGO, to me, is about having a home on this game. About having a home as a gamer, really. The first gaming community I've actually cared about, which is surprising for one of this size. Even with hundreds (or thousands?) of members, things still feel personal, everyone still knows each other, and everyone helps each other out. Everyone helps the clan out. Being a member means having responsibility, to keep the servers clean and keep everything running smoothly so people can find the clan like I did. If we didn't have players actively dedicating their time to filling the servers 24/7, and didn't have our top-notch admins keeping everything under control, players wouldn't be able to have the same experience I did. That'd be a darn shame.
