Hey guys,

Sorry for this rant but I am super flustered :facewall:

So, eGO servers are my favorite and my go-to when they are not full or not empty. The reality of it is, that may not always be the case. I am only able to play for 15-45 minutes sometimes and am not able to seed or wait for the server to populate, so I go play elsewhere.

And in the past month, I've been banned in 2 places and accused in countless others for hacking. All of these servers have ban appeals, just like ours, but I feel that the burden of proof is completely backwards and it is SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!! What I've come to learn is that once you are accused of hacking in some other server and subsequently banned by their leadership, the probability of getting that ban lifted is like 0.0000001%. As Q-tip has told me, " that is why you stick to ego servers". And he's right, because through all the years you guys are the only ones to not shaft me. But sometimes, I would need to play somewhere else to be able to play at all.

It's awesome that I will always have a place to play with ego. It sucks that I no longer have much of an option anymore. Sorry for the long rant guys, I am just exhausted with trying to reason with other admins, being polite, and trying to actually get some positive results.

I don't really see this being a factor. Play as you normally do. Point here is really that some servers will immediately judge you as a hacker just because you are skilled and do not have as good administration as we might.

There are literally places that will ban you for quick-switching or because you have a really high KDR. It all his to do with accountability and experience. In SPY and the AOF admins were required to upload the demo and the burden of proof was entirely on the admin, and the leadership members in charge of viewing them, just like here in eGO. If you view a lot of the source ban databases for other communities, there is a countless number of hacking bans with NO uploaded demo attached. Some will have a demo, but most of the time there is no evidence. A lot of the time it goes right back to accountability, unlike in eGO their admins can probably do whatever they want and have no one to answer to.

The final response I got from the latest server was basically that if in the case I wasn't cheating, I was making the game not fun for the opposing team, which lead to the server emptying out. Therefore, for the sake of the majority, I was to be removed (and reputation marred for the official reason being aimbot).

In the end, they pay for their server, they set the rules, they decide who gets to play in their servers. I just think its a really pathetic and lame situation (though I am understanding of keeping the server populated).

You should try CS:GO for more competitive play. I think it may be more satisfying when the eGO servers are not filled.

I was making a joke Simon........

Yep, having a really high KDR is grounds for a ban in several servers, but they should not mess up your reputation by banning you for reason aimbot, especially if they are using a ban system that can be searched by the public. Next time someone thinks you are hacking they will google your steam ID and a past result for banned - aimbot on another sever will be enough in their minds that you should be banned there too. They should at least edit it to say "server disruption" or something.

CS:GO is pretty fun but it can be rough at times as it is just a whole different type of community.

Back in the day I was playing scoutzknivez on CS 1.6 and I got a no scope headshot through 2 walls right when the round started. I was freaking out like nobodys business, it was cool as hell. Two seconds later... "Disconnected: Permanently Banned."

I got perma banned from so many servers back in the CS1.6 days for "hacking". I've never cheated, I was just a kid addicted to CS and beasted with m4 + silencer. People were so mad I spray headshotted them quicker than they could burst hs with an AK. To be fair, my play style did look a bit like hacking since I shook the mouse peculiarly, just because I had perfected the silencer spraying! Must've been tough to lose to a kid  Good old times :)

Lol, I even got banned on CSS once, and Im not very good at it. I got a reflex HS on an admin and BAN. I got it lifted b/c the admin never responded to my appeal.

I hate when these decisions are left to the individual admin. In the previous clan a few of us were in, this was the way it was done also. Guess where that server is now? Gone forever. After a while, no one came to play. It was a good learning step for us, eGO was where I felt most at home, partially because of the reasons you were given. Here all are welcome, and when caught cheating or breaking the rules, banned. CAUGHT being the operative word, not suspected.

Anyway, see ya when you can!

[UPDATE]

Good news! Following a discussion with the head admin, my ban was lifted from the 415clan server. My faith in reasonable admins has been restored.

Being respectful and understanding definitely goes a long way. On the admin side of things, being patient and non-dismissive will foster a positive conversation (versus a emotional argument).

...and on the other hand, what a compliment it is to your game-play to be accused of cheating when you actually are not.

All other populair servers don't really have a fair system like we do.
The ban is mostly given by leadership ( When he thinks you're hacking ) The problem with this is that that is his oppinion, and the problem with that is that there is no way of getting yourself unbanned.
That is Unfair... They don't have people to give second oppinion/revieuws on demo's like we have.
They spectate you for a minute or so...Those servers are based on personal oppinions.

Credits for eGO's fair system and Demo Revieuwers <3

Btw, Maybe Frustrating but one thing is sure, You're playing so well that people think you're hacking... I would take that as a compliment !

Thanks for the positive statements. Of course when I enter into eGO servers with members playing, I do only as well as the next body for the meat grinder. eGO peeps make it really difficult to BEAST mode.

A good way around this is to be notably bad in several different ways. Like when devildogs banned I was like listen guys, does anyone realistically have THAT BAD aim when they're cheating? and they were like yeah we'll unban you
