Defining Maturity For The Future: Language Rule Update

Culture: Professional gamers creating the #1 place to play games and make friends.
In 2006 JohnT, Artimus, and the rest of the founders started our community to have a place to play games without having to encounter immaturity. The mission was simple: PUNK FREE GAMING. Ten years later the mission hasn’t changed. However, pop culture and the gaming world have faced steep changes. People play games much differently than ten years ago. People communicate much differently than ten years ago. Just because an individual communicates different from the EGO norm doesn’t mean they are immature. More importantly it doesn’t mean that they are a punk. It is important that our rules reflect the environment we now game in.
Effective immediately, we will adjust our focus of PUNK FREE GAMING towards targeting disrespect. Understanding that every individual communicates differently from another, we need to focus less on the little things people say and attack the larger more hurtful things. Our Code of Conduct will now read:

- No disrespect tolerated. This includes excessive swearing and the use of any racist, sexist or homophobic term.
- All names, sprays and avatar icons must be PG-13 rated.
