I like to be more lenient to players unless they start directing it at someone. So I like the rule.

G'Day eGO!

Even though I can't see my self as a role model I do agree to the new rules in the way of respect and hope of a better gaming attitude.

Sincerely Yours, Bengt "WOLF" Johansson.

I always felt most severs had a language rule and one game allowed it. I always thought it was a double standard. I am glad to see it is now one rule for all game servers in eGO to admin..

Leaning towards no, really weird seeing admins swear in-server. Otherwise it wouldn't really matter to me

Admins are meant to still be professional and hold up standards. I suggest talking to that member, or seeking divisional leadership if you are seeing such things.

Thank you for making a poll on this! However, I am disappointed with the current results. If this poll were introduced when the policy FIRST came out, I think there would be a lot more people going with "No". One of the things I am most disappointed about is how many members are accepting the rule because it supports what modern culture is. In my opinion, modern culture is getting worse and worse. The fact that such a wonderful community like eGO has decided to change with the times is discouraging. Servers are an unpleasant place to play thanks to the policy; because of this, Steelbilly and I have considered leaving eGO and going to a community of mature people who keep gamers and servers friendly family. Any chance we can get rid of this policy (at least in one division)?

LOL

You really cannot please anyone in this world.

*YOU SHOULD ASK THE COMMUNITY*

Gives poll, results don't agree with their opinion

*RAWR POLL ISNT ALIGNING WITH MY VIEWS WHAT A BAD IDEA THIS WAS*

The results of the poll still would be the same if they put it up before/the day the implemented it and now. It is actually better to bring the poll up now because after people have had time to see that there is no real change to how our servers are, the poll brings more light to what people have now experienced since the rule change.

AKA, the poll is more accurate because of people having a chance to see the effects of the rule change on the community.

I dont agree with it. Having said that, it doesnt change how we run the servers and deal with people. Its just another change to get used to, thats all. The annoying thing is the buttheads who want to push the envelope WAY too far. Ugh, like a bunch of little children

Although the rule really doesn't affect me, I do think that the current policy is strong. I personally don't mind seeing a word here or a word there, but of course there is a limit, and EGO has always had that limit. No excessive swearing and no disrespect. Being raised from the BF division, I was used to that type of rule.

I prefer it go back to a no swearing policy. Don't get me wrong, I swear alot but it doesn't need to be in our servers in game chats for younger eyes to see. Thats what our rated R rooms in Teamspeak are for.

Ego going back instead of forewards, I am most disappointed with this new rule. You should not change just to appease the low life.

LONDON BLITZ

I think the changes allow more ability to create an enjoyable server environment. While I don't think enforcing every single instance to the max is necessary, I've seen it give admins a little more fire power to get rid of those that take it a little too far (at least the BF side). Now it's more transparent what and why players get kicked, and it seems (just from observation) that those kicked are not claiming "admin bias" quite as much when they return.

So the poll is "more accurate" now because people have a chance to see the impact on the community? BUT the results would be the same if it were up the day of the change?

Cool logic, bro.

I do agree with Derpy that the poll results would likely be different if put to a vote while this was a hot topic last month and there was wide-spread dissension (within our division, anyway). I also agree that fear of a large margin in disagreement with the policy change because of the timing was likely one of the reasons the poll was delayed until now. However, that did not happen, so it isn't fair to speculate for anyone in favor of (or against) the policy change on what might have been.

I would rather see the poll late than never and commend leadership for finally allowing to happen. It still provides a good look at where the community's head is at and was brave on their part for putting it up - albeit a bit strategically late, perhaps ;) I grudgingly admit that there IS a value add for folks to see how (or how little) this has impacted the community, so I see the logic in that.

Regardless of your stance on the policy change, sarcastic, snarky, ad hominem attacks on other community members that do not share your views does little to prove your point. It just makes you look like a jerk :P

Pretty sound logic actually. Because the people who were "on the fence" of the subject now have a better understanding of how the policy change would impact the community, and will vote accordingly (Or not, as the "it doesnt matter to me" option proves.). The people for and people against would not have changed their opinion (or very few would, which has been proven throughout history with elections, voting laws, etc.) which would have drawn out the same conclusion as this poll has shown.

However, the results would have still been about the same. This has been proven time and time again. A quick research in to the history of simple elections would show this.

Sorry you couldn't understand that, "bro'.
