Read my first guide for being a warden/guard here (click me)

The guide is formatted in how a round usually plays out and the different "phases" of it.

VERSION 1.2

Your objective
It is the Ts job to rebel and eliminate all CTs or live until the end of the round as the last remaining prisoner and receive a Last Request.

Phase 1: Cell Block

1a: General Statements
Cell Block is usually very hard to rebel inside of against good CT team unless a CT deliberately baits the Ts or you get a gun in your cell. A few maps give you smoke grenades. DO NOT WASTE THESE. Smoke grenades are very valuable tools when used properly to assist a rebellion. They can be used to cover an escape. Other grenades and occasionally weapons may spawn in your vent cell. It is up to your discretion when to use these. Hiding in your cell can work on some maps, but be wary of maps with tactical awareness grenades or CTs that check cells.

1b: Vent Cells
If you get a vent cell, chances are you have very little time to break through the vent and escape before a CT notices and starts to pursue. On some maps CTs can see which vents have been broken and will have a pretty good idea of where you'll end up and where you might go. Use this to your advantage to surprise them and secure yourself a better weapon off of their corpse. Some maps have very expansive vents/tunnels with multiple exits, knightfight for example, and are very easy to hide in or get away in.

1c: Exiting Cell Block
Once the warden starts to have you leave cell block you have a chance to rebel and escape if you weren't lucky enough to get a vent cell. Some maps have multiple cell block exits and smoking one of them can lead to a quick escape. You can also use a smoke to get through a vent cell, be wary though, if a CT is already in pursuit of one of your team members, they might just be in the area where you pop out. Be aware of your escape routes and which one's the CTs have covered. Try to coordinate with your team as to what vents are open, a CT you plan on rushing, or even just where you're going to throw a smoke once you're being moved. Teamwork is key and will be a recurring theme throughout this guide.

Phase 2: Post Cell Block

2a: Being Moved
When you are being moved, always be on the lookout for opportunities to escape. Some wardens and CTs will forget to be positioned in key rebellion areas allowing you to toss a smoke grenade and get away without much effort. Other times a CT might just be a little too close to the Ts and a quick rush will allow for one of you to get a gun. Smart warden's will have you crouch walk or shift walk which allows them more control, if they ever tell you to run or "rush" an area, use that as a free pass to get away.

2b: Teamwork
Teamwork is key, sometimes a T will cause a distraction, sometimes they'll tell you they're about to rush, and sometimes they'll toss a smoke and run for the hills. Always pay attention to team chat. Don't be afraid to die. It's a video game and you will respawn next round. Sacrificing yourself for the good of the team is never something you should get upset over nor be scared of doing. Try to kill off the warden, this can cause mass confusion among the Ts, including the one's that aren't rebelling, allowing for a quick and unnoticed getaway. Try not to "bait" your team as they'll just lose trust in you and stop rebelling with you.

2c: Chaos
There will be times, where the CTs have completely lost control of the jail. At this point you basically have a free pass to do whatever you want, just expect to be shot for it. Once you notice the CTs' control of the Ts is slipping, tell your team and get them to rebel, chances are they'll completely lose control and you'll win the round. This is also very easy to achieve during Zombie Freedays as the CTs can't watch the whole map at once. Find where their coverage is lacking and make your escape.

Phase 3: Pre-minigames

3a: Relax a bit
Occasionally the warden will send you to the pool, or disco, or the park. Use this time to relax or plan out how you want to rebel. Talk to your team and get a feel for whether or not they'll go along with your plan. Above all else, just enjoy it and have fun.

3b: Take chances
There will occasionally be opportunities to rebel during this period. It will be a little harder since you'll usually be confined in one area, but if the CTs neglected to position themselves accordingly or one is cut off from the rest of the team, such as being in the bathroom alone on the map "maximum", you can take the chance to rebel. Worse case scenario is you die and respawn the next round. Even if you, yourself, don't get away, you might cause just enough of a distraction or lapse in map coverage for another T to escape.

Phase 4: Minigames

4a: Cheating
Currently no cheating is implied unless otherwise stated by the warden. If nobody catches you cheating though, did you really ever cheat? ;D If you're able to cheat and get away with it, you'll live just a bit longer. Be careful of guards and wardens watching you though.

4b: Winning
Once you've won a game chances are they'll move you to another game. You can use this time to rebel, if you see no reasonable opportunities, just hope you manage to win the next game and stay alive and always be on the lookout for openings and chances to cheat.

4c: Losing
If you lose, chances are you're about to meet a swift and merciless death. Most Ts will rebel in these circumstances as they are about to die anyways.

Phase 5: Last request OR Last Guard

5a: Last Request
So your team is dead and you're the last one alive. If you made it to the end of the round, it is your right to choose what you want to do. Just remember they're all waiting for the round to end so be courteous and make it quick. Some favored LRs are "M4/AK 30 Seconds", Shot for Shot, and Disco. LRs like "knife or no knife" "CT Idol" and such are not favored as often the guards don’t look at the wall in "knife or no knife" and Guards don’t often have anything ready for "CT Idol" during the short time an LR is supposed to take.

5b: Last Guard
So there's one guard left and you haven't rebelled. It's the last guard's job to either get to LR or kill the remaining Ts. Chances are they'll be eliminating the rest of the Ts, so most Ts act fast before they're killed. Occasionally a last guard may attempt to eliminate the rebelling Ts and still attempt to proceed with the round and get to LR. However, it should never be expected that a T won't die to the Last Guard, even if they were following orders.

I strongly agree if you want to see your name ontop of the leaderboard instead of mine Kappa

Awesome guide Nick, should be helpful to those that want to get better at rebelling and being a good T in general.

Sooo I should not be throwing a smoke in my cell then? Best advice ever!

Just as a note, this guide isn't meant to be a full in-depth walk-through. It's more to serve as an entry point for people that were thinking of hopping on jail but don't really know how to play as well as a guide for people that want to be a rebel but needed tips.

Probably slightly outdated somehow but wanted to bump it anyways

I love how you have to say "DO NOT WASTE THESE" lol
