I'm only recently registered here, and I understand the rules. I was just wondering what the situation is with players that have really bad attitudes- like constantly calling another player a "retard" because they messed up an uber..etc.. As I find that word really offensive but it seems to go unnoticed.

The word 'retard' is ok.
But, if it's referring to somebody, No, it's not ok.
Example.
"Hey, You retard! Why didnt you ubered me?!!!!"
or "you retard..stop hacking..."

If you see/heard that kind of 'retard'
Slap the Respectful rule.
(Please Be Respectful, Thanks!)

=(e)= being helpfull issue: Thank you for wanting to help. Though , like Haloracer said: please construct it in a clear and meaningful way. "HaloRacer, please watch your language on eGO servers. Thank you!" instead of something like "language" or "watch ur language plz".

Message the admin in admin chat by pressing your team chat key and adding @ just before your text. Make your sentence clear to the admins so they understand right away. there is no rule that says that =(e)= dont have the right to try to enforce the rules when they know somebody is breaking the rules. I prefer to see recruits say something than not.

BUT do not try to pick a fight with rulebreakers please.

Retard issue: It has been said it is not too bad when it is not used in a demeaning way toward someone. I personally dont agree with that.

** ALso remember that every admin sees things a bit different than other admins. Some appreciate the help, some less. It is nothing personal so just make sure you don't go overboard when you see rule breaking.**

Okey, You should'nt be a admin if you are'nt

As an =(e)=, it is still your duty to make sure people know the rules by politely and clearly asking them to change their names ( if offensive) and to mind their language. Although, if they don't reply to you or if they start abusing you, then stop talking to them and ask for admin help.

The reason is: if you argue with a rule breaker, you are disrupting the server too. So remember that you can get in trouble for picking a fight with a rule breaker, therefore call for an admin to come to your game if their is none or message one in game.

As an e, I have to say that this is the answer that I like the best, simply because it's the one that encourages us and makes us feel welcome. The problem with saying "Don't say anything, let the admins handle it" is that to me, it's kind of like it's saying to the e's "Sit down and shut up, kids, we'll take care of the big scary curse word users." I don't mean to sound confrontational, but I've said a few times to people "Just so you know, the server doesn't allow cursing, so keep an eye on it" when someone says something in voice chat a couple times. After doing that and then reading admins saying I'm not supposed to, I feel kind of conflicted. I love these servers just as much as any admin, so I feel like I should be able to protect their fun atmosphere in any way I can.

If I say once, just once, "Please watch the language", am I contributing to the problem or breaking a rule? I really hope not. :(

I can understand the worry of, like, EVERY e on the server pouncing on people. That'll have the effect of making us look like some gated community of pack dogs who jump on everyone. I'd say, if anything, that it should be made clear that if an e has to step in at all, try to make it ONE e, not 10. :o

Like i said, some admins welcome help, some prefer to deal with it without any interference. This can make =(e)= think they arent allowed to voice their concerns in public.

So as long as you're not acting immature by doing it and try to be helpfull without being annoying, then go for it.

Most of the time e's shouldnt worry about anything if there is an admin there in server. Thats not to say I wouldnt appreciate a little heads up if there is a lot of bad things being said on the other side that doesnt have an admin. We all own the servers, it is the eG's and eGO's responsibility to keep order and it is EVERYONE'S job to have fun in them.

If there ever comes a time that you see a rule broken and an admin doesnt do anything, dont assume they dont care. Send them an admin only chat and ask them did they see what so and so said or did you see this really gross spray over here? Everyone has the right to do that and if an admin jumps down your throat for that then whatever you do, dont come in here whining out in the open about it. Send one of us a PM about it and we can get it straightened out, always remember that less admining is better.

Everyone knows who the good admins are, follow their lead and watch their actions in game...its the best training tool there is. When I was an eGO admin and we only had one....thats right....one single server, thats how we trained the e's and eG's. If you ever see me in game then watch and learn, that goes with most other eGO's. But one thing I do ALWAYS in game is have fun, I look at people who make me have to admin in a not so nice light and I act accordingly because they take up my valuable gaming time. Unfortunately there are bad apples in the bunch, folks have off/bad days and that kind of thing so dont lump us ALL in there as we dont give a damn about admining the servers please.

Few people are born natural admins....but many can become so through training and experience by watching other admins.

The only other thing I will say is to the e's....

Dont try so hard, have fun and help us out where you can....this is a game after all :)

If an e or even a pub says watch your language I don't mind. It shows that they care. In fact it makes me happy because it shows how we all are united against punks!!! :)

But yeah, if an e gives a warning, I won't get angry or anything. If the e tries to pretend to be a real admin though....well that's another story.

I'm guilty of this. I'll usually tell someone to not shoot through the gates without thinking. I just get tired of them doing it. Even though it's not my job to tell them.

The gates thing, I don't say anything unless I get killed. I figure then I at least have a vested interest in telling them not to do it. >_>

Thoroughly discussed:

=(e)=s, thank you kindly for helping to keep our servers clean. If there is an admin on server, use the admin chat (team chat, @ symbol, then your text) to make him or her aware of a situation. Goodness knows in combat we don't see or hear everything.

If there is no admin on server, politely ask for rude behavior to stop while checking your friends list and ventrillo for an admin. Fortunately, we have lots of solid admins on most times of the day.
