so i rebel alot and ive see on maps like undertale if you are playing this game and you break the wood on the door you can get to vents. so when ct's see it they are allowed to pursue this through armory...but to me thats giving a chance to t's and they have no other way to get out other than go disco which should be the way ct's should pursue. or through Strafe Jump. to me the point of jb is to rebel or play games and when they have the chance to rebel and the only entrance through that game is armory and its being blocked by ct's pursuing you is hard to beat. i think there should be a rules where ct's cant pursue through armory.

sorry for my bad typing! this was fresh from my brain lol.

thanks from bye!

Well BYE the point is to overtake the jail and run the prison.
I totally agree with CT’s shouldn’t be able to pursue thru armory tho

they made multiple vents for a reason.
agreed.

I've seen many rounds where vents were open in cells and nobody pursued and T's had full control of the armory. I have also seen where ct's just sat in armory until cells opened and sprayed vents. This extra rule seems useless and unnecessary as it only assists t's to rebel for no reason.

Theres multiple ways to rebel. Getting that vents isn?t the best. Getting the dropdown ?minigame? in this map is the best, you can get either the tp, or the gun (if youre good and agile).
Dont think this needs to be added. Just something else to spam admin chat...

taco those people should be swapped for staying in armory and second if nobody rebels then what is the best explanation for "JailBreak"?

so you are saying remove the second game? with the door? to go to armory? to rebel? because thats the purpose and if ct's can just look at game #2 and walk back into armory and kill t's that won games from disco or whatever get killed because the prisoner in cell #2 broke the door....thats not fair at all.

No, what im saying is: id rather get something else instead of vents in this map

dont ever say its bad map design when thorgot made the map...ive never seen you and youve never seen the map probably.
He is one of egos map creaters and his maps had vents that led to 5 or 6 places so cts couldnt camp vents. Also there is a rule cts can only purse vents from the opened vent they can not break vents to purse. When they do purse vents they have to leave through the open vent they came from

I hope you're talking about that being a rule in eGO jail server and not the pG Jailbreak server.

CT'S MUST NOT Damage vents or go into them unless you hear/see/suspect a prisoner has gone through (do not camp vents)

What exactly is camping vents and secrets?
Camping vents and secrets can be either staring down towards a vent without caring for other parts in the prison, standing at the entrance/exit of the secret of vent or being inside of it waiting for people to come to you.

And for the purseing of vents (cant find it on my phone) but i remember Mayhem Death saying when a ct pursues vents they must go through the open vent and exit out of the area they went in and this was for pg jail rules

41) If you're a CT and you just finished pursuing vents but your still in them, do you think you should be allowed to break another vent in order to get out or should you have to back track and leave through the way you came?
You must backtrack through vents because as a guard you must not:
... damage vents or go into them unless you hear/see/suspect a prisoner has gone through (do not camp vents).

this is completely different from what im trying to say....first of all its a door not a vent, second they can pursue through a different vent because you cant go through the cell #2 one when cells open. going through armory traps t's from going back to disco because a ct should be pursuing through there not armory. and for the t's that won the game and are getting pursued because someone broke a door...you think thats fair? i dont i think pursuing through armory is wrong and they should pursue through the alternative way.

How would you design the map differently?

  • Don't put a vent into armory.
  • Set a vents health to 0 unless an inner trigger is triggered so it can't be broken from the outside.
  • Filter out CT damage entirely so CTs can't break the vents at all.
  • Put it in an area where CTs won't be able get in even if they could break it.
  • Put many different exits, twists, and turns.

All of my maps incorporate one, or multiple things listed here in order to prevent easy access to the vents by CTs. There's no point in a vent that leads right into an area the guards can get to faster. That said, they're balanced out other ways to actually involve skill to rebel instead of random chance of spawning in a vent cell and popping out in armory. As part of balance, you'll also notice I almost never have awps in my maps and give everyone body armor but CTs always get a helmet.

Let me rephrase, it's bad design for how I believe a jail map should be balanced out. That doesn't necessarily mean its wrong given the nature of current jailbreak. That said, I've put over 2000 hours into mapping for CS and having vents with easy CT access just defeats its purpose. Which also means if you are going to have vents CTs can't get into, that it needs to be balanced around that, and not lead into fully automatic rifles.

Basically we had a rule for maps that they could not have vents or teleports into armory as that defeated the skill/challenge/strategy for the prisoners to escape and rebel.

Its not fun if all the prisoners have to do is break one vent then rush into armory ... round after round ...

Instead make the exits go in back halls, maintenance areas, a fair distance away from where the guards would usually be so the exits can't always be rushed. Sure the prisoners may only find weak pistols, shotguns, and SMGs in said aforementioned areas, but maybe, just maybe they might eventually work together to rush into a vent and then find a good exit or split up to confuse the guards.

Pretty sure you misunderstood what he said, because pursuing through the vents that's already broken is not a rule.

I don't know how I would feel about having this be a rule, because there's some maps where if this is a thing, the Ts basically get a free win, and there's some cases where not having this as a rule makes it impossible to rebel. We should really just leave it, it's been like this for like 2 years now, and while it sucks, it hasn't caused any major issues yet, besides complaining.
if it aint broke, dont fix it

One thing people don’t understand. If vents are broken, you’re allowed to persue. No matter the situation (unless they’ve been cleared by another CT). VIP, for example, people open the vents and CT’s persue. They can check the ENTIRE vent system until they find an open exit, through which they should persue. Unless they are needed (warden dies and they need to take warden), they shouldn’t break another vent.
