Announcement Jailbreak CTbans Update

Since the Prestige Gaming site is no longer available, we no longer have access to the CTbans that were on the website. We have disabled the ability to CTban and will be switching to server bans instead. This also means that those who are currently CTbanned will not be able to have them lifted for the time being.

If they're broken, are they getting fixed? Because trading CT Bans for Server Bans doesn't sound very good.

I mean, we lived without CT bans forever with the eGO servers. It's actually more lenient than how things used to be in JB as a whole and sometimes overly nice.

We just revoked which used to be SQL DB based, then that part broke, so it only kept for that round. It still worked. If people broke the rules after being revoked they would get kicked and or then banned.

Ban times stay the same but admins, please use your discretion more than ever as server bans are harsher than CT Bans. If someone obviously made a mistake warnings and swaps go a long way. Of course if the player is careless or has a history of having little regards to the rules use that ban hammer.

I know you guys are saying it's gonna be the same time, and I know you guys just changed the rules, but please consider modifying the times. As matz said, this might cut some of the population and the punishment between a server and ctban are a lot different. I'll try to be lenient, but I'm just worried that new players might end up getting banned when on CT.

Anyways, like Jacko said... server bans are not same as CT bans, and would probably follow the same procedure (like it would, if you would break other rules).

if you are concerned about server bans on new players, sm_swap still works right? Follow that with kick/ban.. I mean multiple warnings are enough for "new players" to understand that they should probably stop whatever they are doing thats getting them that warning.

Yes ok but think about new players. If they instantly get banned they will have a bad opinion about this server.
