CS TTT Detective rule suggestion

What I want is for it to be against the rules to shoot at a person you missed a taze on as a detective. There currently is no concrete rule against this and it has ruined rounds for people that are just playing the game.

There is no good way out for the player that is being shot at regardless of their role.
a: The inno likely get killed by other innos seeing a detective shoot at him if he doesnt shoot back.

b: if the Inno shoots back, he gets called kos by another detective that scans the dead detective's body, or other innos see him shoot the detective and put him down.

c: If the detective doesn't hit him, he could try to report the inno for rdm after the inno kills him, since he's a detective and innos shouldn't really ever kill them.

If the player that gets shot at is a Traitor, their round is virtually over because;

a: You killed a detective, everyone that sees it happen pops you instantly and your round is over.

b: Another detective scans the body of the detective you killed and calls KOS on you.

A suggestion of what the rule could look like under the detective section:
May not shoot in the general direction of players without evidence suggesting they're a traitor. (e.g. Missing a taze)

For clarification: The situation I'm talking about involves a detective missing a taze, then shooting in a person's direction. (t-baiting if they were an inno, not a detective)

there is no way to know whether the D hit the scan or not, only the D knows that. i don't really see this happening, and I haven't seen it be a problem.

If a Detective misses the taser and blatently kills the person report them to a Admin since that is considered a RDM and if you hit the taser and kills the person if its an Inno report them to a Admin for that is RDM. if you wanna know how the detective works let me just clear it out here so if people find this thread and if they are new they can read this….

How to play Detective:

What is detective? A detective is a person finding murderes so he can kill them or let anyone else know that he is Kill on Sight (KOS) So all of the other players can kill the killers.

What do i need to buy as a detective? Very simple first of all each round you must and always buy a DNA Scanner and gets the proven innocents proven and the traitors KOS AKA Killed. after you bought that dna scanner and maybe after like 5 minute of killing traitors (if you are lucky) buy a heavy armor Its very OP and really good.

How do i make sure people are proven? when you dna scan a person dead body it says who the killer is, but if the body is red that killer is proven if the body is green that player is a traitor most likely. now the Old fashion way of a taser each round as a detective you spawn with a taser use it wisely to either prove a person or kill the traitor and it also says in chat if the person is innocent it says innocent with green text if its a traitor its a red text says traitor.

What if people rdm and i dna scan the body and call kos? Well you are just doing your job if the RDMER gets kos too bad for them but if it was a missunderstanding still too bad for them they should just have listen in the first place.

What if i accidently kill the wrong guy and gets reported for it? Simple just tell the admin that it was on accident and you already said sorry to the player (i hope you do that)

so if you still did not learn how to play this role go onto the server and try it and see whats best for you GL HF gamer

So is the detective actually hitting the player with his shoots or baiting him(shooting around) incase it's a T. Those are two different things.

So what I see here is when a detective misses the taser shot and then shoots the person they failed to tase because they were "suspicious." Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the rules clearly state what is a justifiable cause to shoot at someone (i.e. Traitorous Acts). Here are the traitorous acts if anyone forgot.

  • Entering/leaving a traitor only area.
  • Being called out for ‘kill-on-sight’ (KOS) by a detective.
  • Shooting around or towards other players, unless for self defense.
  • Throwing lethal grenades towards other players without prior warning, unless for self defense. (Throwing flashes or smokes are NOT Traitorous acts.)
  • Declaring a KOS on an innocent.
  • Calling out traitors without reason or intentionally making players suspect you are a traitor.
  • Carrying explosive barrels towards other players with risk to kill/injure them.
  • Being in disguise (no name/info when you hover your cross-hair on them).
  • Not identifying, hiding, destroying bodies or hanging them to surfaces.
  • Activating any sort of trap that almost, or did kill/injure another player.
  • Stating they killed a traitor, when they did not (assisting in the killing of a traitor, is considered they killed a traitor).
  • Destroying the Traitor-Tester or a Health Station (doing this as an Innocent is griefing).
  • Exception: Destroying the Traitor-Tester is only allowed when you are trapped and your life is in danger (such as C4 is planted and there’s no way out other than through the vents behind the Traitor Tester).
  • Not moving away from your personal space after being reasonably told at-least twice.
-Detail: You are to give a reasonable chance and repeat as some may not hear you over others talking or may not react quickly due to mic-delay; Your personal space is not the room, but rather being too close for comfort.
  • Killing or injuring non-suspicious players, or the detective (unless it was line-of-fire or were attacked first) or a proven-player.
-Detail: A proven Innocent is someone you witnessed kill a Traitor, or tested as an Innocent. They are NOT proven by word-of-mouth.

No where does it state that upon missing the taser shot that the detective is allowed to kill someone. To also further this confirmation is in the Miscellaneous rules, it clearly states
... Furthermore, evading a taser is NOT means for a KOS.

I think some of you guys are missing the main argument of this post. Recently a trend has been going around where if Detectives miss their taser, they shoot around the person to make them think the D hit the tase and bait them into trying to kill the Detective. As C ChrisCross said there is no benefit for you regardless of your role when this happens.

Innocent - People see the Detective shooting towards you and contribute, because he's a Detective, resulting in you being RDM'd.
Traitor - People see the Detective shooting towards you and contribute, because once again he's a Detective, resulting in you being RDM'd, on your T round at that.

This has been a big problem recently, and I have witnessed and experienced it first hand multiple times. It shouldn't be allowed, it ruins everyone's experience aside from the Detective's.

Edit: Also as dys dys said, it clearly states in the rules that a Detective missing their taser isn't a reason why they can shoot at or towards anyone.

Well if thats what happening then that Detective should be reported to the admins for blatently causing server distruption to make other people rdm

I completely agree, but there are quite a few admins saying that it is allowed and isn't against the rules.

I think it should be agaisnt the rules, detective or not you cant randomly shoot at someone, but it would probably be best if we actually knew the verdict on this before continuing with the rule suggestion. Luna P Power_Outlet

Ok I think 3 mentions is a little much but oh well

Leaving this to the TTT experts (no more mentions)

I'm no AT, but shooting at someone if you miss a tase has never been in the rules. It's still considered RDM because you don't have a justifiable cause to kill them.
