I am just going to throw this out there, i know alot of people probably will not like this. I hope everyone will give this a good thought and respond with Good thoughts and opinions.

I think we have to base the server off of Roleplay instead of rules. Instead of having an admin situation pop up as you're roleplaying, you can continue the scene. For example: If you get rdmed you can roleplay yourself get shot, hunt down the criminal or have the police involved. Rdm or a good roleplay scene?
Many of you will ask: What if people just break all the "former" rules? This is where admins can come in and use their common sense, there is a difference in someone who joins and shoots everyone and someone who takes revenge for you stealing his car.
If this happens, it will be mayhem at first but if we all do a good job it can be alot of fun.
I suggest: Remove almost all rules and base it off roleplay.

So can you elaborate a bit more on when an admin should get involved?

Failrp should still be rule, same for exploiting etc etc

So if I understand correctly, using the scene I described as an example. The 4 VDM's would have been admined.

Yes, it should still be realistic and you should make interesting scenario's running into cops with 4 people as they are roleplaying would not make sense, and shouldnt be happening. In this case admins can step in and take action

That's a slippery slope that I'd rather not go down. Anyone who has admined a troublesome player going off of common sense knows that the odds of that ending well for both parties is about the same as you going into a lion's den with a crippled leg. The rules are there for specific reasons, and they help the server. I can also see this leading to hitman/low effort/RDM RP. Regardless of the rules or not, I really do not want to be shot out of nowhere and have to play it off as "fair RP," cause that ain't fun for anybody.

In my opinion, with the influx of new players into our server as we grow every day, on top of the fact we are a public server, this is asking for so much more trouble than it’s worth.

The rules we have are in place for a reason. Thing like robbing or kidnapping cops/ems/ect are in place to stop the cancer that was going on.

While this all sounds good on paper, it would be total chaos. Our server would be no better than GTA Online.

Yeah, no. If you want no rules, play GTA Online. Just like Adam said, rules are in place because we've experienced what it was like to not have these rules, and it was no better than GTA Online. No RP. It was constant kidnappings, literally 1 an hour, of cops/ems, etc. Nothing but shootouts, constant murders with no RP.
