Suggestions For Jailbreak

I've been thinking about a few suggestions for CS:GO Jailbreak Server!

1st: (Costum Spray) Costum spray would be a neat little thing to have! It would be used in Lr's for example s4s, or it could simply be used as a flex to show off your creativity or your artwork.
(Note that server rules would still apply to this - So no penises, Pornographic content etc.)

2nd: (Discussion of a rule) So the rule I want to discuss is the "Warden dies, everyone is pardoned rule".
In my head this makes no sence at all. Lets say the warden tells the T's to go to the red marker and freeze inside of it. Instead some of the T's manage to get to the warden, far away from the red marker, and kill him. Obviously the T's are rebelling, but because they killed the warden. Then they are pardoned? This rule makes it very confusing and hard for new commers to fit in since the T's chose to rebel in the first place, but because they killed the warden, then they are pardoned?.
I understand this is a rule that have been here for years, but if I feel this way about the rule, then others may as well.

3rd: (New Command!) In case that previous suggestion is not accepted (Which most likely is going to be the case) I still suggest a new command! The following command -> ( !ct *player* *x* ) Explaining the command is quite simple. You type !ct, then the players name and then for how many rounds they aren't eligable to join CT.
For example: Lets say I accidently freekilled a few T's because the warden died and i didnt notice or someshit. The point is it was a mistake I killed them. That would count as a "MASS RDM" which is ban worthy. Instead of doing a short ban of a week or even a month for something that was a mistake and not intented. Wouldn't it be better instead to not make me, for example, not eligable to join CT for maybe 50 rounds or 60? To ensure that the player still gets to play, but make sure he can't go on CT until he have learned from his mistakes.
(Please keep in mind that being CT'd for 50 rounds. Means that you have to be on Teorrist for 50 rounds! Not 50 rounds from the freekills. This command would also work with normal freekills. Normal freekills could give 10 T rounds or 20 T rounds. That is up for the admin to decide what is fair. I just feel like a ban is overexaggurated for many of the cases, since they were accidental and not inentional!)

Ban should only be used as a last resort and not just because someone ****ed up because of accidental or miscumminicationion!

Theese are simply my thoughts of how we can improve the Jailbreak server. Some may agree and some may disagree. That is why I'm simply and humbly suggesting this.
Feel free to discuss this and ask me any questions if its not clear, or if my bad and poor grammar is making the sentances unreadable.

I worry about the logistics of a custom spray. Each tick, a client using custom sprays would be adding new decals to a wall. Not everyone has a computer capable of handling that many decals (up to 512, or more). Some people, like myself, don't even have decals enabled.

A feature like this could potentially isolate clients with weaker computers.

I disagree with this. We used to have 40+ people online on my previous server and people would use their costum sprays up to 5 times a round! Admins could spam their spray up to 10 times a round. We never recieved any complains or experienced any sort of lag output from the sprays.
TomSL TomSL , but in the scenario would you agree that it would be a freekill to kill the 2 T's that ran towards the warden aka rebelled by not follwing his commands? But because they didnt get a hit in, then they are automatically pardoned?

Yeah? It's fine that they're pardoned. The point of killing the warden is to cause chaos. You could argue that they rebelled by going after the warden and not following his orders. But because it's so difficult to enforce, and is very case-by-case it's not really going to change from what i can see.

I didn't even know CS:GO supported custom sprays.

I agree and disagree. For T's the goal should be to kill the warden so they can get their 5 sec of freedom to rebel and run away!
But you have to agree that the goal for the CTs would be to protect the warden and kill all rebeling Ts not following commands! This includes the T's running after warden.

But since this is something that can be debated back and forth for all eternity. Then would you agree that it would be better to ban the CT for killing the 2 Ts or would it be better to restrict the CT from CT and force him to play T for maybe 20 rounds?

And tbh, i think you would be suprised what CS:GO supports when it comes to community servers! Even Cheating is aloud! There are actually multiple Cheater Vs Cheater Community servers out there and others that might suprise you more hahaha :)

I have one problem with the !ct command. You can go into spec and afk the rounds. Also 50 rounds isn't that much considering that a lot of the times the rounds go really fast.

M Molly glad you asked! You see that is true. He can go into spec mode and wait the rounds out, but he/her will be wasting their time. The !ct command will only count a round down if you are actively in the game! that means you have to be on teorrist at the end of the round for it to count as a played round. Therefor the ctd person can go to spec mode, but their punishment will not be counting down.

Besides atm you only have the swap option? and that is a 20min restriction. Now even if the person could just wait the rounds out in spec mode. Then 50 rounds would be a LOT longer than 20 min

They can just join T, and before they get moved to spec a ct will kill them. Once they do get moved to spec they can rejoin T. Also rounds can be super fast, some up to 40 seconds. Also, a ban from 50 rounds on CT and a 2 week ban is a big difference.

I disagree from the perspective of a Source engine modder. Not every client has decals enabled. Some clients only have 64, or 128 max decals. It's not fair to force everyone to play on a baseline graphics setting when we want the server to be open to anyone.

But molly do you really think it is better to ban someone for 2 weeks and make sure they cant play at all for accidently freekilling someone? or would it be better to aloud them to play on T side and make sure they get 50 rounds of experience? Keep in mind that the 50 rounds is optional for the admin. The admin can do 200 rounds if he feels like that is better? But keep in mind that banning is a bad thing... Ban is ment to keep people away from the server. Like Intentional MASS RDM! Not someone who is maybe new to the game and tries to understand the servers rules, but he dont know them yet. YES he should not be on CT, but it happens all the time!

And tbh. Would you honestly put the effort into joining T everytime you the round is closing in and then next round go back to spec?

I feel like this is a common misconception when it comes to any topic involving CT bans. Every situation is different, and it is up to admin discretion how each situation should be handled. However, I've never seen someone be banned for blatantly accidentally freekilling 1 or 2 people.

Minor things like that are what revoking a CT is for.

Does it lag the server when people use the in game sprays? Costum sprays would be the exact same thing. It would be the same as adding another picture to the map. Instead of the picture being on the wall, then it would be on the floor or the roof or wherever they decide to spray it.

I feel like this should be tested. I wont sit here and pretend i know more about coding that you! You are voice is final compared to mine. However i dare to say that I dont believe It would be a problem to add 1 or 15 or 30 pictures to a map. Think about avalanche. If you decided to add 100 pictures to the map. Would that make the map unplayable? keep in mind that the costum sprays are sized limited to maybe 50x30 or 25x20! So it is a limited amount of text and things that can be in the sprays.

You don't just get banned for freekill. I think that if someone intentionally sprays stack then yes they deserve a ban. Also if you accidently mass freekill you could appeal the ban and explain the situation. A new player doesn't just join JB decide to join ct by typing !g. First theres a priority queue so they might not get CT, and also as soon as you join you see that there's roleplay involved, you see that there's a warden and guards, and there's prisoners, you don't see the warden or guard spraying down all the t's. Also if they were to freekill they would get swapped and they would probably find out there's some sort of rules which you have to follow, they ask in chat about it and they get told to hold tab and press server wesbite. Yes the rules might be long and they might not watch them but you can learn by how CT's play and just play like them. If you want to play CT and learn then just don't use your gun and look at what others are doing. I might not be the type of person to be bothered to join T all the time if I was to be banned or whatever you want to call it, but some people for sure would do it, which basically makes the command useless if you think about it because technically they did wait out does rounds.

Awell with the custom sprays, people might add offensive sprays and use them. Now you have to add a plugin which shows who placed down the spray and it just adds more mayhem for admins having to warn not to use offensive sprays, and then kick or ban or whatever the procedure would be.

The funny thing is that if you freekill 3 people or 4 people. That would be counted as a Mass RDM... If this happened trough an accident or Communication do you think its fair to ban the person for 1 week? Cause that actually happened to me. I swapped after the round and took my punishment for not being 100% aware. However I was banned for 1 week because someone reported it on Forums. So theese things do happen.

You do realise that a lot of people join CT every single day without having a single clue on how to warden or what to do. They just join CT because they want kills. Every single day new players join and they figure out by typing !g you can become a CT and kill Ts. They will eventually become a CT, But how can you say that it is better for them to be on CT and watch what the other CTs are doing? instead of restricting them from CT for a periode of time and let them watch from the Ts perspective? in 1 week. They could gather up 100...200..500 rounds of experience instead of gaining 0 experience and instead be salty about a ban?

I think it is completely fair.

If you're banned for Mass RDM then that means you ruined 3+ people's round due to your own confusion or miscommunication with the Warden. If a player cared enough to try and resolve the ban, that is what the Contest Ban forum is for. Accidents happen and Leadership is extremely understanding of that, 9 times out of 10 you will be unbanned for accidents like this by making a Contest Ban.

Also you can learn from your mistake. Mistakes always happen.

Ya I think that?s why it was existing in pG so that people that ct banned for a week or can still play on the server as a prisoner, and learn how to be a guard properly from both the rules and the players cause who says you can?t learn from more than one source of education?

I agree with Crusher. As you said yourself "learn from your mistake. Mistakes always happen". How come that Ban seems to be the only answer to your question? Dont you feel like ban should be a last resort used to ban actual MFK? Or used against people that haras on the server? Instead of banning someone for an accident? as you said yourself "Mistakes happen"

Custom sprays are possible and are not at all resource intensive. I programmed the sourcemod side of sprays for that previous server and they are just decals like any other. With a long cooldown there was never any issue with performance.

The web interface to allow players to upload their own sprays was someone else's work and sounded finicky so that would likely be where most of the development time went into.

If you start a new suggestion thread about sprays I'd be happy to offer my thoughts on what is required. It feels like this thread has too many conversations to really get into it here.

thorgot thorgot What about the Ct command we use to have at sG? would that be a possible thing to add after the upcoming maul update?

Feel like the CT command was a key command for admins and i see that it could most definitely be a key command here as well!
