On jailbreak, i'm beginning to see a trend in the maps we play. Most of the time we are playing the same few maps every day. Obviously these maps become more and more boring and less fun because of that. I'm Suggesting that we add some sort of limit on the frequently played maps as to provide some variety in the game and gives people new thoughts on what kind of maps they want to play. I'm not saying we need to remove the frequently played maps, but it's getting very repetitive when we play the same maps every day. Some possible limiting factors could be a limit on the times we play a map everyday with the frequent ones having less plays and the less frequent maps having more plays in a day. Most people do like the maps we play every day but for some people that have played jailbreak for a while start having less interest in the maps that are played a lot. This is only a suggestion but if anyone has any other ideas to help the repetitiveness, Please put it in the comments. Thank you.

Lets try for one day, a random map selection. No nominations the server decides and see how that goes

a few threads have been made to this tune before, and all that's really come out of thme is changing map time to 45 minutes and raising the cooldown for map nominations. that's all we can really do.

if it was random, the second a terrible map gets chosen most of the server would leave and probably not come back for a while. i agree that maps are repetitive, but people dont like change and if we force people to play other maps it might not be very good. honestly the best thing ive seen to do is nominate some other maps we don't normally play and tell people to vote for them.

When the map causes a player drop. We now know which map should get booted

I believe the current time limit on playing the same map is 8, so 8 other maps need to be played before being able to play that same map. In my opinion that is more than enough, maps that are ?overplayed? are so because they?re good and people like to play them. The map wouldn?t be chosen if majority of the server thought the map wasn?t fun/good.

Here's a list of potential solutions, some are admittedly horrible but so was my warden queue suggestion (which ended up getting implemented and has since proven to be useful):
  1. Lower the current time limit between maps to a lower number than 8, as Peoples said, 8 maps is too long of a limit
  2. Add an additional system whereas a map can only be played a few number of times total in a 24-36 hour period (48 hours is too long).
  3. Add a system similar to the warden queue for maps, whereas each map has weight added to it influencing whether or not it'll be up next.
  4. Abolish the run-off vote in the map voting system.

As lily mentioned, I've made a thread regarding this before, and from that I still think that a reference, preferably an automated reminder in chat, to a map guide that helps new players get a look at what exactly they are voting for. Education (regarding our maps) is the most powerful tool for facilitating change.
