I just think its wierd to ban people of the server if they mfk (on purpose or not) if they enjoy the community and just want to play they cant grief if you ban them for the same time of ct. So for example someone new joins and accidently mfks we shouldnt ban him for 2 weeks we should be able to ct ban them for 2 weeks and the same goes for intentionall mfk if they mfk they get perma banned of ct, And so if people for example like **** who continuasly ban evades cause they think the server and the community is great why cant we let them have as much fun if htey just play as a T. It wont affect us. And if someone server disrupts its just a normal ban. And so forth

Your suggestion will definitely promote players to spray down stack more frequently. I would say 80% of the player base only plays as a prisoner so having a CT only punishment for mowing stack down intentionally isn’t the move. In the past we had a ct-ban system and stack spraying was much more frequent. “Ayy bro do it for the memes it’s just a CT ban”. Guards using this as a crutch for an easy CT win is kinda weird.

So for example someone new joins and accidently mfks we shouldnt ban him for 2 weeks
As an admin you should use admin discretion to asses if the situation was intentional or not. Just because a player accidentally started a game and MFK 5 prisoners doesn’t mean they should be instantly banned. A swap or a CT-ban (up to 1 hour) would solve the issue. Majority of new guards don’t have a clue how to play guard and just copy previous wardens. So instantly punishing them for an honest mistake is not the move.

The option to CT-ban for days was pretty beneficial for smaller circumstances.

Good to know thx for the information. I didnt know that im pretty new to the server still so i dont know about the history of the server. I joined cause of nostalgia from when i played with my friends on Tango i think idk but im glad i join eGO instead of tango. anyways thx for the reply

Ct bans are more effective than you might think, but they wouldnt really work as well. Since there are other ego "servers" to join and break the rules on. Good idea tho, a previous community i played on that only had jb used it, very effective.

Yeah, as Larry said, if it's accidental and new players, a ban shouldn't be necessary

+1 with a few suggestions and modifications
  • I really like the concept of perma CT bans for intentional MFK, I'd vouch for that.
    • Most players who intentionally MFK usually do the same as soon as they are unbanned because.. uhm... rdm funny ahahahahjahjahaujashashdsadfhaskjdaskjdhkjlasjdhlksa
    • Perhaps a strike policy for unintentional MFK (whereas # incidents of unintentional MFK gets you a 2 week ban and a perma CT ban)
I don't play CS JB as much as I used to and this reply mainly comes from the little experience I have there plus having been an admin on GM JB server back in the day

Yup, always try to explain the rules to new players. Bans are only necessary when it's obvious they don't care to learn the rules and play by them. As admins, it's our responsibility to try and work with the player base to keep the servers running smooth and remain enjoyable for all players online.

Even with the CT Bans for MFK's during pg, the server was totally fine, I don't remember a problem during that time. Intentional MFK's did happen but it wasn't as if it was every other day, maybe it was because CS:GO was payed and there wasn't as many people banned as there is now.

80% of admins don't give a single shit about if it was an accident or not, they're going to ban no matter what. The CT ban system was really good and it worked really well as players who got banned for accidents could still play the server but just not as a CT. At the moment you can get admin by just playing which is really bad, a lot admins don't take into consideration anything and are soo power hungry they will just ban as soon as they can, you can be hella toxic on the server but as long as you beg 5 of you're friends to promo rec you and you act all nice and well while a leadership member is on you can get promoted, I've literally seen people be a bigger piece of shit than me and still get promoted.

I think that intentional MFK's should be considered a 2 week ban but accidental one's should be a 2 week CT ban, it should go based on admin discretion and if the admin thinks they did it intentionally then the person banned can appeal and then it's up to leadership to decide if it was an accident or not.

If you ever feel like an eG or eGO is abusing their power/acting power hungry, then I employ you to use the Contact Leadership system to report that admin to the division's Leadership team here: https://www.edgegamers.com/forums/852/

Make sure you provide evidence if you're going to take this route though. He said/she said types of reports aren't going to get you anywhere, just saying.

echo beat me to it. however besides that I also wanted to say that CT bans are fine in theory but if we are talking about players who just don't know the rules, it is much more effective to give them a swap or move them to spectate while they read the rules as it will add to people having a better experience on the server and more importantly them understanding the rules properly when they are able to play on the CT side again which helps a lot more in the long run

Oh yes because that's going to do something, they get talked to in ts told to be more careful with bans and they don't even get a note on their maul saying they did anything because the leadership just want's to resolve the cl which they don't care about because it's literally a small thing which isn't that serious and they just have to get the CL resolved.
You dont understand LE process so I dont think you should have a say in what actually happens. Either way, if they are given a warning and continue to do it they will be further reprimanded because they were already warned of it.
Oh yes because as if it wasn't obvious enough, every new player is willing to read the mini version of the bible which are called the rules. I don't think you understand, most admins aren't just going to slap a new player on the wrist and say don't do that again and just give them a swap for accidental server disruption because they pressed a button on accident, they're just going to outright ban them.
If they actually want to be commited to this server and be further involved theyre going to have to learn and understand the rules. Im not gonna say I understand JB and how it works since I dont play it but Im just saying, any server you join is going to have rules and if you want to play on them you have to understand them.
y u still trying after eg?
why so rude and what does this have to do with the conversation ? Maybe keep that one to yourself. People can be dedicated and committed to the server and not just in it for one thing.

I'd like to agree and add on to what Maruchan Maruchan was saying. Everytime someone gets banned I'm sure it get's logged somewhere, if the person has multiple MFK bans say 3+ They'd get a 6 month ban or something. It's obvious at that point they are really nothing but a grief, this is also how it worked in pG days aswell.

The bans should also remain the same as regular bans meaning not just 6 month CT bans but like 6 month server bans.

For someone who joined the community two days ago, you seem to have quite the entitled opinion about how the community is run and how Leadership handles CLs. I urge you to rethink your behaviour and the way you conduct yourself on the forums. Toxicity is not tolerated in the slightest and being a person who acts like you've acted in this thread isn't going to get you anywhere.

I highly suggest you reevaluate the way you comport your opinions and emotions about others in the community as what I've read here is very unbecoming.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITH CLS LOL. I could give you 5 CLS that were made and nothing happend to the player nor the admin.
You don't report players with a CL, first of all. To report a player, please use this link: https://www.edgegamers.com/forums/1233/

CL's are a means to progress up the Chain of Command and primarily are used to report Admins or matters that only Leadership can handle. Also, you'll never know if anything was done because Leadership will never tell you how they handled the situation, ever.

I also find it strange that you joined the community 5 days ago and have put in 5 CL's already?

Thanks Man what a great manager!
love you too <3

i would probably consider mfk if this was the rules, banning them from the server gives a real punishment if they care about the server because they can’t play it. if you get ct banned as a T main, for example, nothing is lost in this system.

So for the Ban system for the MFK and what not there is already one on JB which is called the swap ban, if someone MFKs they will be CT banned for the amount of time as a regular Freekill. This can be placed on other servers if TT and CS LE wants to do it but its up to them. :)

MFK isn't a swap ban. It's a server ban.
