On the map minecraft_beta, is standing on top of the awp secret by climb camping? I was pursuing climb and I took the secret and by the time i got there, a ct was just standing there waiting. I assume he was just standing on top of it waiting for someone to pursue it, so would this be considered as camping a secret?

on top of the awp secret is in sight of ts and cant view the secret tp. you could argue the building right outside of cells that cts stand on is camping vent with ur logic

You can see the tp from the top of awp secret, but still. there is no way a CT would get there that fast if they weren't sitting up there camping it.

It's one of those spots that are really hard to objectify if it's camping or not.

If they are purposefully staring into the spot in the lava, and trying to check if there's an awp peaking out every 5 seconds, then it would most likely be camping. But I do not think it's fair to say that standing on there alone is camping. It's all about intent here, which would make this really up to admin discretion, but I wouldn't personally admin just standing up there.

Also on a side note, you know that when you take that TP you get teleported inside of the statue, not immediately on top. I don't think I've really ever heard of someone choosing to fight ontop of the statue, rather than inside of it

Long story short, no, but if someone is purposefully trying to push the rules to get cheeky kills, I'd admin them

someone stays on top --> watches if someone drops into the lava to go to the secret --> immediately goes inside the secret to wait for the person to teleport.

happened to me three times. stopped doing the secret after that because i have the same question(s) as java

I believe @santa explained to me once that being on the grass ledge up by the secret is NOT camping, while standing directly on top of the head IS camping because you are blocking one of the entrances (the eye) to that secret.

You cannot stand on top of the “robot thing” because it would be considered camping the exit of a secret. The exit sign in the secret teleports you on top of the “robot thing”, and as stated by the rules you may not block (camp) a entrance or exit of a secret/vent.

However, if you see a prisoner drop into the lava to go to the secret a guard may then instantly pursue into the secret by going on top and falling in.

It's the same as standing on the Castle and waiting for the T's to run towards the lava secret of the castle.
In fact, for me, camping secret or vent is clearly undefinided or, at least too, subjective.
Like for example, on VIP, a CT standing on the far left edge of the big cage and looking (or worse, hard scoping with an awp) at the vent cell under the stairs is not considered as "camping a secret".
And same for the guys on the balcony of armory who wait for a guy to go inside this vent cell and, then, hard scop the TP location in the armory... Or the mutherfuckin armory TP on Quake, etc... Too many examples
