To begin with I do understand the point of this is to keep it RP as much as possible and realistic to an extent. Please take all of this with a big fat grain of salt you're doing amazing work !

1. Issue: Realistic economy but no low buck option

With the current economy cars are too expensive we are force to steal to travel for a long distances, which if you trying to have a clean record can't be done much. Yes bicycle are good at first but going to sandy shores and back is an issue if you don't want to leave the server and come back 'breaks roleplay'.

Suggestion: Have a dealership sell bad slow/CHEAP cars, similar how you can go to a junkyard or a really low end dealer today and get a 500$ car. All the options we have now are new.

2. Issue: Time allocation/management

This is an issue that seems to only concern me from what the discord is saying but I truly feel like I'm not the only one. Following the current economy if I play 6-10 hours a week which is already a lot of time in a regular adult life, I will only be able to buy a car in about a month of gameplay which totally kills the point of travelling and discovering new things/people and literally impossible to buy a store in less than a couple months.

Suggestion: Make the economy less harsh this is still a game after all and you should have fun playing/RP'ing, a good example of that is stealing a car for the car thief, you get paid 100$ but you have to buy a gun, ammo and pay the NPC 40$ for the location, just to get your return on investment your looking at 3-4 hours or more if you screw up.

3. Issue: Forced FOMO for stores without a pausing system

I'll try to explain to the best of my ability for this one lets say you're on vacation you grind the game 40-60 hours in that week you have enough to buy a gas station and a store your happy life is good, something happens in your life your PC breaks, your internet provider is being troublesome, close family died, your sent to military school etc etc, you'll simply lose what you worked 60 hours plus for it's not really motivating to come back and restart now that you have less time since your and a regular work schedule.

Suggestion: To be fair to everyone make a pausing system or a for sale system, let me explain. Something is up and you know your about to go for a month simply go into your store and basically disable it for a month. OR you can list it for sale at whatever the price you desire for a month where it's literally a for sale sign without needing you because you will be away.

4. Issue: Hard to focus on RP because grinding is now the way of life

I really appreciated the way the new server works and all the implementations, but RP took a big step back because it's hard to earn anything in a reasonable amount of time (Goes back to my 6-10 hours a week analogy) even harder than in regular GTA V so far I've only tested jobs and that's it, I didn't talk to many people didn't work with anyone I just worked and I understand that this is a serious RP but coming of work IRL to Work in game and only work is not really RP'ing or participating much to the experience.

Opinion: " If the RP is really the main focus of the game working and gridding, getting stuff should be the easy part Roleplay should be at it's core, not gridding the same job for 40 hours." If that is the goal that is okay too :) just not one I will be participating as much as required for good RP because of my IRL time schedule. (Personal Problem)

Suggestion: for this one I honestly don't really have a suggestion it 's really just to keep in mind when adjusting job rate and other factors.

Thank you for your time whoever reads this I tried my best to analyze it in a logical way. I appreciate all the effort everyone as put in, this community rocks !

For points 1/2 - you do know there's a down-payment system for cars, right? And there was at least one super cheap car at pdm when I was in there

Hello Yan Inc, and thanks for this feedback post, I am the dude who made the economy so let me explain a few things to you so you can understand it better.

first things first, a lot of people get hung up on the realistic sense of the economy. The economy is not meant to be realistic, it is 100% my brain child and thus its not based in realism, its based on gameplay, but also investment of time.

Vehicles;

why are vehicles hard to get, why are vehicles so expensive, why aren't all the vehicle custom, why does it take so long to get?

vehicles, vehicles, vehicles. The thing is, I want you to spend a lot of time grinding for a vehicle, you wanna know why? because when you eventually spend (however long it takes to finance a car) it will actually feel like you achieved something, and not only that but I want you to be more attached to your character due to this time investment.

the vehicles aren't custom because in this make believe world we call los santos, there is vehicle and item progression in all aspects, PD starts off with older pd cars and slower ones too, and civilians are the same, aswell as everyone has weapon progression and item progression. this means as time goes on, things will get a lot easier and some things (food, weapons, gas, certain items) will get cheaper. as players will be able to buy gun stores, 24/7's, gas stations and buy and sell goods for cheaper.

a note, you should be able to rent or finance a car pretty early on, is this not the case currently? let me know and ill make sure it is the case. but remember, when I say early on, I don't mean day one, I mean earlier than it is to buy it.

Time allocation and Management

so heres the deal here, I'm going to use this age old argument that I hate but totally makes sense here, you don't need money to roleplay effectively, but I would say that money helps your roleplay in a few ways, with afk time you can make 100$ an hour, you need to spend 40$ on food every time your hungry so you can, with the paycheck everyone gets, have enough money to sustain yourself but not take any time away from RP.

if one of your goals is to have a vehicle, have a house, be rich, be a drug lord. You have the options to do that, but these options require time investment, the economy is slow, so keep that in mind.

now does this mean things cannot be adjusted? no certainly not, if theres an issue that breaks my economy (Example being fishing like it was) then ill make sure it fits in. But if theres a bunch of concerns about the economy taking to much time, things may not be fixed as that was the goal going in, its spose to take a long time.

Car thief is a pretty well paying job, but as its a criminal job it has a few more risk factors (than the way it worked on live) but since its a criminal thing, it also has some great rewards, heres some data. (mind you that I'm considering increasing all of these by 200$, and the low one by 100$.

heres the actual data here, the job (including scrap yard) includes randomness, one of them includes item drops, almost all of them are high risk, but also have a nice paying reward attached (if you get away) if your caught you can (can) get smashed with fines. and also have to understand the jail times as well.

but if you can kill the AI's and get out quick, you just made more money than any other job on the server in 30 mins (if your doing the high paying one) because the locations are random, and with 2 cops or more, you might some times get lucky and some times you wont. (i'm open to increasing this a bit, but i'm also concerned that it will be too easy and people will only do this, which I don't want.)

Buyable stores and gas station don't have a pausing system.

they do actually have a form of a pausing system,

after X time of being below the minimum stock amount, and minimum stock variety, the cool down will start, meaning that in 2 weeks of being below the minimum amount of stock, your store will be placed back on the market, and your items and cash inside that store will be removed.

we 100% do not want people to buy a store and stop playing and never come back so we are forced to do it manually, so a rule of thumb would be, keep your store stocked up at all times, and keep the item variety high.

if you have any suggestions on how long this cooldown period should be, reply to this section of the comment and leave them.

Issue 4.

I will point you toward the time management point where I speak on not actually needing to grind.

Here's my opinion on your opinion;

I think that the grinding aspect and roleplay aspect atleast for this server goes hand and hand, if we were 100% for the RP we would be a menu server, and if we were 100% for grinding, well we would just be every mmo that exists.

the point is this, you aren't always going to be grinding (atleast you shouldn't be), and you aren't always going to be Roleplaying either, a recommended strat would be just doing an illegal job every 30 mins or hour, while roleplaying in-between, or grouping up with your buddies to buy a van that you all can fit in, with that you can get a car pretty quick.

And finally, thank you once again for making this detailed and comprehensive post regarding the economy, I've been working on the economy since November of 2020, and a lot of my time and effort has went into making it like it is, I've gotten a bit of help along the way but generally the entire economy you see has came from my brain, as well as fixing some things when I get suggestions (Cars was something that was changed heavily in the dev phase)

so with that said, keep the feedback flowing, if you find anything that is crazy good, report it as that most likely wasn't the intention on the economy and was either missed by me or overtuned.

thanks for reading.

Big thank you, I'll do my best to fit in with the time i have in the game, i thank you for taking the time it's really appreciated. You answered pretty much all my concerns, I'll take more time to deep dive in the economy as well.

Hopefully i will see you in game 😁!

A cheap car dealership would be my favorite thing ever, i loved all my beaters i had in my garages and i would love if i saw more people cruising in beaters

Following your suggestion, there were two new people that were added to the Economy team over here, following that they have been working their behinds of day and night to push out a new economy into the whitelisted server. This new economy that they have built from the ground up is currently in place inside of the active whitelist server.

If you have the time feel free to hop on and test out the new economy! Thanks again for the suggestion!
