Why do people use alts?

I say this and this only, I will not reply back since I don't expand these type of things with ''citizens''. VAC is a boat without patches implemented by Volvo in 2002 to stop code breakers or how you would know them by ''bug abusers'' and am not talking bugs which you go outta map, am talkin bugs such as the first release of the so called ''HLTV models'' for cs 1.6, which blocks the weapon animations. They were doxed because it did what it said, it didn't just block the preview, it completely removed the animation and so the potentality for fragging was a no brainer. VAC isn't perfect, never will be is just there for ''us'' to see it similar to the game ''Crossfire, MicroVolts'' and many other, FACEit and ESEA proved that you don't need to implement links from the internet to create an anti cheat, it proved that the anti cheat needs to be able to access your game directory and search for hidden files, that's why most people in LAN's you might not know, for e.g back in 1.6 days when Hamachi was the ESEA as you know it know, people had their ''Show hidden files'' enabled by default together with some paired settings in the client by the event org. Most important and last is that VAC isn't real, you can get it anytime either by a brainless Overwatcher which there are many or by some weird behaviour by an app in the Steam library.

I use an alt cuz im bored on my main. It's more fun to mess with friends with an alt.

Hi all,

I have a question for everyone here that is familiar with CS:GO. Why do people use alts? The reason for this question is that I come from a server that prohibited the usage of Alt Accounts. Their reasoning being if you're using an alt account it's likely merely to break rules. I personally agree with this ideology. From my experience, new / alternative accounts are much more likely to break rules or be disruptive to the server.

While there may be very niche needs to use alternative accounts, I personally believe it would be best if eGO simply disallowed them. As a result, this would prevent ban evasions and cause less annoyances to players on the servers. One example of why I don't understand why eGO allows alt accounts is taken from a quote from a ban contest that was made.

Does eGO simply turn a blind eye to this? It doesn't make sense to allow players to use alternative accounts, especially without a valid reason. This contester simply used alts because they were "bored". To me, this implies that they used an alt to avoid punishments on their main account.

So what are the reasons people use alt accounts? From a "regular" player's perspective, why would you need to use an alt account?
I think your right about the fact people who use alts are more likely to break the rules, but that same person is most likely to break the rules anyway and if someone’s going to ban evade a rule against alts won’t make that big of a difference to them they will still get banned for ban evasion and would only prohibit those niche reasons one may be on an alt. Personally I have two accounts I play on and have logged into surf for because one was created years ago and think it would just limit those few amount of players.

From my experience being an admin here and on other communities people who used alt accounts were always doing it for malicious intent unless the user was smurfing and didn't have the patience to log out and log in.

Alts only became a thing when csgo went free to play, from what I can tell with over 2k in hours is that it is difficult to detect without a hardware/ ip ban. Also when there is no barrier for entry you can just go wild with account making.

It wasn't always like this. Most people wouldn't pay 15 bucks to buy csgo on a new account to get banned again. Valve became greedy and didn't think about implications for community servers.

Main account got compromised and contacted steam support so I could get it back, and when I returned I had a vac ban on it, so I this account
