I am not able to earn points even when the server says I am

Detailed description of the bug
I have been told that in the dev server you are still supposed to be able to earn points yet for some reason ive lost points while playing in the server even though i "earned" ~4000 with stage recs. every time i beat a stage rec it ads to my [total] but when i type /rank i see no change. Ive tried retrying in console but all that has accomplished is resetting my [total] to where it started.
when i joined the server i was at 1077/38308 with 3713 points and im currently at 1136/38308 with 3430 points idk how i lost so many points in only a few minutes.

I am not certain on this for Surf specifically, but in general, the dev servers are meant for development work. A majority of the changes that are made by playing on the dev server do not reflect on the live server, which is by design. We do not want changes we are testing in dev to accidentally cause changes in player's rankings on live. If you're looking to gain points, I recommend playing on the live server.

I'm going to give Trinity a mention here, as she should be more familiar on this for Surf specifically, before I change the status of this bug report.

The points on the dev server do not carry over to live. I’m not sure why your points aren’t adding up dev, however, but it doesn’t necessarily matter on there since it doesn’t carry over to live. We don’t carry over points from the developer server because people with access to dev would just join it and farm points.

Also, the developer server is meant for server specialist use and leadership use. I ask you please refrain from joining it without invitation from myself or our surf advisor, PixeL.
