Before, I was playing Call of Duty 4 Single-Player just fine. I wanted to play Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer but I needed to install PunkBuster which I didn't in the first installation. I had to reinstall it and I deleted the folders first and then uninstalled it using Add or Remove Programs. Which I put in my CD to install it, it said Uninstall, Play Single Player and Multiplayer. I can't play Single Player and Multiplayer and when I click on Play, it says nothing. Whenever I press uninstall, it says it could not be found.

I think it's a problem with Registry Keys but how do I delete them? In a thread I read, it said to use a Registry Cleaner but a friend of mine said it could screw up my PC bad. So should I use a Registry Cleaner or what should I do? If I should use a registry cleaner, which one do you recommend?

Thanks in advance.

PS: I have a Vista. I know this should be in Tech problems Forum but I figured you guys could help me more since this is the CoD4 Forums.

Alright, for one thing NO a registry cleaner wont mess your computer up (unless you're doing it manually and have no idea wth you're doing). I actually Know an excellent registry AND cookie cleaner called CCleaner, I've been using it for years. And make sure you deleted everything in your Call of duty 4 directory.

I dont know how many times I recommended this program, its amazing.

Plz post if it doesn't help, I might have some other solutions.

CCleaner is the best that there is. I have been using it for a while, and it works great. as for the problem with cod4.
Go to you C: drive and look in your activision folder, if you have any other activision games, leave them and delete the entire folder for Call of Duty 4. then reinstall your COD4 game. You will need to download the patches in the correct order, not just the newest one.
1) 1.4
2)1.5
3)1.6
4)1.7
And for the Punkbuster client, you will need PBSetup. You can find it at either http://evenbalance.com or

Thanks for repeating everything I said and contributing to forum spam <3 And if he can't install the game there is no need to download the patches...think.

I already had the CoD4 folder deleted. I used CCleaner and cleaned out a lot but it still doesn't work. It's still the same.

Never mind, I found out how to fix it! Thanks a lot for all your help!
