So I heard about this new game mode that's coming with the heavy patch, and started thinking about what it could be, or what I'd like it to be.
If any of you ever played Firearms on the original Half-Life, they had a fun "Search and Destroy" mode. Now, Firearms always operated on the reinforcement system. Each team started with X reinforcements, default 255. Every time someone on the team died, to respawn it cost one reinforcement. When you ran out of reinforcements, you stopped respawning. When everyone on your team was dead, you lost. The search and destroy part of the mode came from some crates of "weapons" or "drugs" or whatever (they were just boxes) held in the deepest part of the enemy base. If someone from one team could get all the way into the enemy base and destroy them with a few quick shots from their gun, their team would gain some reinforcements. After a while the crates respawn.
Thoughts on this game mode, or other game modes that you've played in other games that you think would translate well into TF2? Maybe we can give Valve some ideas.
