weapon comparison

WOW... Lot of talk...

Reality is:

Rifle: Sure, Garand fires faster and has more in clip, but you can one-shot kill much more often with a KAR open-sighted as it gives 83 damange and most people have some damage already when in an engagment. The KAR wiins by a long shot.

STG?BAR - Every single thing is equal between these two guns except for the skin, the sound, and the fact the STG has 33% more rounds per clip... making it more effective. STG wins this one too.

On eGO maps, the Axis MG does have a slight advantage due to extreme rate of fire. Sure, Allies MG is more accurate, but it takes forever to get it set up and on Avalanche at least, the map advantage the Axis has makes this tricky. Axis MG has a slight advantage.

Assault... equal in all respects.

Sniper: This is a toss-up, and more tailored to the individual, because some players feel more comfortable wtih one type than the other. Ultimately, it's a toss-up.

Bazooka - Hmmm... If Carbine werre still secondary for them, I'd give the advantage to the Allies, but since it's not, the advantage has to go wth the Axis and their super-speedy C96.

How about maps? Avalanche favors Axis pretty clearly. Donner is a toss-up. Kalt favors the Axis.

Generally-speaking... Because weapons tend to favor Axis and maps tend to favor Axis, I tend to gravitate to the Allies. They generally need more help. I think Axis get enough unfair advantages that they don't need me adding to it.

"Assault... equal in all respects."
Mp40 spray more random have a wider cone of fire. But they also have more damage. If you are in apts or church with an mp40 you have the advantage.

I dont know why people think the BAR is the same as the stg44 its NOT!!!!!!! That is why they give the BAR 20 shot clips. To compensate for the dmg! I have shown this to my brother too, who doesnt believe me. so what we did was created a lan. we each fired a single shot at the chest at each other. The Stg44 did an average of 25-37 dmg. The BAR averaged 42-58. We did 10 tests to get the average. Ehh, when I mean average, i mean all the dmg took place within those boundraies of highs and lows.

@Boojola, Sorry, that's wrong. They are the same. Its in the code base.

@Blackhawksniper, Sorry, but you too, are wrong. Again, its in the code base.

i knew the bar was stronger because i always hit 50's with it but the stg 44 shoots faster

/slaps self across forehead.

Ok, I give up. Enjoy life in the cave.

heck im surprised the russians actually got in to germany....in world war ll the axis had the more advanced tanks and other weaponary...but to make the game fair they changed the statics......

The only thing wrong with that last statement is the fact that the Axis powers consisted of Germany..... and JAPAN, and ITALY!!!!! Italian weaponry sucked (their tanks were dubbed rolling coffins), and Japan's were not much better (their small arms were atrocious). Germany by far had superior tanks and machine guns plus the first jets, but there are far too many variables to say that Germany had the best weapons, let alone to say that the axis did. Thats just not factual.

For example.... the German Tiger tank was murderous on the battlefield, but slow compared to the Sherman. Its turret turned much slower too. This allowed Sherman tank crews to out maneuver them and engage them from the rear. Plus we could out produce them.

However.... the STG44 was ahead of its time. The sound of a Mg42 caused terror, and the Mg34 was arguably the most effectively used MG in the war (the manner in which it was deployed). The panzerfaust was cheap and very effective.

All in all, and its kind of hard to imagine this, but if Germany had the resources that America did during WW2.... who knows what the outcome would have been.

I believe that the Allies MG has an advantage on avalanche, as well as the allies team as a whole having the advantage. The allies portion of the map has much better cover to fire out of or take refuge as well as control the pace of the battle. The allies can effectively cut off axis reinforcements coming through the axis second with a sniper/mg combo (i'll leave you to figure that one out). This restricts the axis to either go through the basement or under/over the archway. Under the archway/basement can easily be covered by yet another sniper/mg combo. This leaves going over the archway as the only viable option for the axis to exit without dying. A couple allies fighting for the church and the rest are free to roam elsewhere, forcing the axis to take a defensive stand point.

Because of the distance which MGs set up in AVA, the accuracy of the allies' mg also allows you to kill enemy snipers before they kill you. The MG hits exactly what I want it to compared to the Axis MG where I have to hold down the mouse because the bullets are hitting everything except the target.

There is not a single axis position for mgs/snipers that allows another player to cover your weak point without themselves being exposed as well unless you treat the axis first as the alamo.

I agree with Kamphy it really seems like the stg 44 has more recoil then the BAR but it might be because it has more shots. Well it shows wat i know.
