I kind of like the idea of a L4D brigade (Actually a brigade is still pretty big. How about "company", regiment", or "battalion"?). It could be something as part of a process of how new games might be incorporated into eGO.

1. New game comes out.

2. eGO members want their own, say.. subforum on the website. A "company" is formed. Has a specific timeline for its lifespan. e.g. 6 months or whatever.

3. More and more eGO members start playing. A dedicated forum or threadspace on the website is created. No featured tab. No designated eGO server. Some type of "junior officer" or administrative leader (not a DL or Advisor). Called... Brigade level? Has a longer specific timeline for its lifespan. e.g. 1 year.

4. Tons of public and eGO members are playing. Game meets certain (whatever) criteria about being "moderatable" (is that a word?) and supportable. Becomes a full division with appropriate leadership, etc. Has its own featured tab on the site homepage.

If there's already a process in place (maybe it's Council just playing it and saying "This rocks!), apologies in advance - I'm not trying to suggest it be tossed out.

i agree 4 ppl playing isnt worth the money it takes, a forum division would be cool tho

I feel like I'm beating a dead horse, but I don't understand why people keep thinking that a L4D server is not cost effective because of the 4 or 8 player limit. The resources needed to run a server scales with the number of players (In fact, from what I've read, L4D actually uses less CPU power per player slot than TF2.).

I'm not saying that they should or shouldn't get more servers, but I just want people to know that it's not a 1:1 ratio as far as per-server cost goes.

My thoughts exactly (see page 6 of this post) I was just too lazy to spell it out so nicely.

We do it with members: e-> eG-> eGO!

Why not with new games? Company-> Battalion-> Regiment-> Brigade-> Division!

With each level gaining the attention required like ScrappyDoo posted. Obviously we'd have to compromise and edit it to our needs. Maybe only have three different ones instead of the five I show buy you get the picture.

I think it would be pretty cool bcuz we get the best games out there..... And eGO is the best server on every game....

i dont really know... it would be fun... but not really smart since we can use our time on something else.

Can't that be said about anything? Why have a DoDs division? I can spend my time playing Css and TF2.

I say wait and see what the server browser is like once the SDK comes out along with custom maps. When this happens, it would be more beneficial to have a server since you will be connecting to it with a name, not just randomly

Im all for it and would do anythig to help make it happen!! And i dont really think L4D is going to die out and i would bet everything i own on that :)

As for servers, I also say YES. They will show up on the main menu just like your friends do under "Community Servers". And there is a way to "EDIT" the language for both server and client side. (if I find the info ill post it. )

I would also LOVE to see eGO get into CAL for this game also.

I agree with having a forum for L4D but is'nt what your suggesting is like a "House" but with a timeline? House's were disbanded due to some problems, if there was to be a "company" I imagine there'd be severe limitions and strict rules to abid by.

Battlefield is a fun option like BF2 or 2142, not L4D because it's co-op style.

I don't see why not, even if you can only play 4-8 at a time, you can't deny that the game is exceedingly popular and still growing.

OMG OMG OMG!!! i was -JUST- going to post this below: :)

I have a -grand- suggestion:

Create a new division for Left 4 Dead.

My observation of L4D in general is that is a very punk filled environment, leading to MANY /ragequits, kicks, and other tomfoolery.

I have started to see more and more people on playing L4D, and the servers would benefit from "official" administration. Yes Maul works, but in a limited capacity(from what i remeber from yesterday). If we officially create a division, resoiurces can be allocated to the administration and management of our L4D servers and players. If we managed our L4D servers as our others, then I have no doubt we can bring these servers to the top of the leaderboards.

I would like to start a poll and possibly start the discussion on this subject. If you have any input on this, please post after you poll.
