Valve screwed up. No DODS servers until they fix it. Worldwide issue folks.

Spray, thanks for taking my avatar.

All this for a lame server quick list that I'm not using anyway. Nice work, Valve.

I hope they have it fixed by tonight - I'm losing a lot of quality gaming time. Stuff is starting to get done around the house :(

So after poking around on the steam site, it appears as though they released a Windows update but didn't bother to release a linux update. Every linux based DoD server in the world cannot update. This is the reason for the error, and why you are still able to connect to some servers(as these would be Windows based boxes).

omg...im so angry! i went on and none of the servers were up, so i was like "wtf is this?!!?!" so once again, valve screwed up, as always...wonderful...

Lol This is soo stupid xD

Good thing I have hockey playoffs this time of year or I would be bored out of my mind.

When this gets fixed let me know xD

I've had this avatar since October 11, 2008. IDK if I had it first, but if your soo inclined to make it yours, I will begin the hunt for a new one after posting this thread. ;) Also, thanks for the hard work Kendle, your probably pulling your hair out, while scanning everything on Google with the name "Steam, linux, class tables, and patch" hehe. Good luck, we'll be right here when it's all done with.

they try to fix things but usually they always break it worse then they had it before :( my comp just updated too. :) and what is with alvalance and donnor not being shown up. server down or is it servers changed to new ip?

Strand, Kalt and Flash are up. Ava/Donner are Linux and like every other linux box out there, they are down.

Could anybody explain to me what the quick list actually is? I surfed steam site for answer, but found nothing. I imagine it is meant to supply a 'quick' list of the best servers for each map. If that is so, how does it decide on the best? I've always stuck to my favorites list, but if this thing is any good (better be with all the trouble the update has caused) I may just use it instead. What does it mean for eGO? If this thing rates best server by number of players we gotta get ours back up and full. Am I right?

As I was writing this I decided to check how it works on tf2 where there seems to be less problems. It appears that the servers with most players are showing up in the internet quick list. I noticed our 2fort server (31/32 players) is trumped by lotus clan (32/33 players).. Wondering if eGO will lose potential players to servers simply because of their slightly higher max players.

Updates to Day of Defeat: Source have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Day of Defeat: Source

Fixed Linux servers not allowing clients to connect

You know, they could completely pull the plug on DoDs and just completely cease to work on it. Or you guys could be patient and appreciate what Valve has given us, even if they do make a boo boo now and then.
