=(eGO)= Wikipedia entry?

If we don't want to get it deleted, I think we should try to present ourselves more as an organization then a clan.

Yarr. For the clan/organization, wouldnt it be a help to get pepole into the clan?

Good luck to you. And remember, keep on rockin' in the free world!

Oh, and btw, if somebody could make me a sig (since all houses got shut down) PM me please. If you would make me a sig, you could get a internet hug.

Wikipedia said:
In computer and video gaming, a clan or guild is a group of players who regularly play together in a particular (or various different) multiplayer games. These games range from groups of a few friends to 1000-person organizations, with a broad range of structures, goals and members.

Basically, we are both.

Heck.

I know all of you are saying that it will be deleted and the like, and yes it might. And hell that would suck. But my plan is to create the complete article first, share it with JohnT, Artimus and others, improve it and when it is long enough and comprehensive enough, we will relase it. It may be shot down, but for eGO I will at least try it!

It is more notable than most clans for the fact that we have famous sponsors.

Anyway, the plan is the plan and whatever happens I am going to write this article. Even if it doesn't get put up on wiki we could still place it on the site somewhere, and I could continually update it. That way we have all of the information on eGO in one place. Just cause Wiki might not accept it doesn't mean I need to quit it, we could still use the info well.

I enjoy seeing you try. You will more likely succeed due to your resistance, I would be VERY willing to help write INS articles if the Council approves.

to 1000 person?? Pssh!! We easily have more than that... on forums at least... active..???

Before all, we should ask the council (since they know eGO better than most of us) to give permission to post anything of eGO in wiki or any other place. Is better that way because then we know that our leader are with us in the event that something good happend (cause we dont like the bad thinks or do we?). So ask the council what they think of the idea to get things rolling.

council already gave the ok for it :) and whoever is making it post a link i want to see it

I checked it out but it says this clan was formed in 2002. In the history and structure page of the website i saw that it was formed on July 1st, 2006. I'm getting a bit confused.

I guess it began in 2006 then.

Please PM a council member and get their explicit permission before making an entry about Edge gamers

Eh... Unless something is wildly defamatory or provably inaccurate, there's really no way to stop something from appearing on Wikipedia. i.e., your council members wouldn't really have any say in the matter. On Wikipedia, public information is free to post - that's how it works.

That fact aside, the Wikipedia community would likely frown on hosting an article for a DOD "clan," because that might imply that it's okay for any clan to have an article. However, if it were written so that eGO looked like a gaming community or news center like IGN or GameSpy, it would stand a better chance of not being deleted out of the main namespace.

Yeah it all sounds good :)

Yeah I'm the one writing the article, and I was wondering now who would like to assist me? This may be in writing the actual article or helping apply the formatting that the article would need. Anything you are willing to assist me with would be great :)

Basically I am going to try and write only a small bit about the clan side, and format the rest so it sounds more like an organization. I will write of how it eGO started, with DOD but I will glance across the subject.

I haven't started yet. I am currently gathering information and figuring out a structure to the whole thing. After a bit of research and the like I will end up writing it :P

Sorry if this post doesn't make sense I am not thinking straight today, or at least a bit wonkier than usual :P
