Watchmen - Review

I have to agree with a few of the posters here, the sex scenes seemed a bit gratuitous, and I actually commented to the person I was with during the second one if this was an R rated film or a porno. Not to mention having Dr. Manhattan's wang on screen was a bit... well, unnerving. The gore was a little excessive to, with bullets ripping through bodies and bones, people being splattered by Dr. Manhattan, and the whole thing with the Rorchatt in the prison.

At least they didn't make it bigger -.- Honestly, I didn't even pay attention to Dr.M's "youknowwhat". And Dr.M blowing up people was in the GN aswell, so I don't see that as a problem. I'll have to agree with the sex scene though. They could have made it shorter.

EDIT: Awwwww :( WB removed the opening credits from the internet D:

yea I agree with you. I saw with a group of my friends and they are all complaining about Jon's big blue dong through out the movie, but I must confess that it didn't bother me at all. I guess it comes from reading the graphic novel so I was expecting it, but even then it was so blue and bright that you could barely see it anyways.

For those of you complaining about the nudity of Dr. Manhattan. I'm sorry you were focused on his genitals and not the story/plot/99% of the rest of the screen.

I just saw it tonight. I personally give it a A- instead of an A+ because of the few unnecessary sex scenes. The action was fantastic however.

I'd give it a solid B. The action, the cinematography, and CG graphics were incredible, but the completely unnecessary amount of sex scenes drags this one down.

they let me and my friends buy tickets, we went up tot he theaters and the guy ripped our tickets and let us in, then when we got to the doors of the theater some butt hole was checking for IDs so we couldnt see it.

they made us pay $30 ($10 each) for tickets and then kicked us out

I had no problem with the nudity or the violence. Nor did I have any issue with the length, I fact I wish they hadn't cut out a lot of the exposition. I didn't like what they added though...and I'm not referring to the different ending.

I also had issue with some of the soundtrack choices and some of the casting choices.

Other than that i have to say, as a fan of the comic, that it was a pretty solid adaptation. Now I'm waiting on the Directors cut.

A-

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I really don't think that it should be weighed down so heavily based on those sex scenes, excessive gore, and Dr. Manhattan's genitals being displayed.

The real story is there, and that's just a part of it in the GN (well, the gore was a bonus).
