What is your favorite war movie?

Black Hawk Down, Saving Private Ryan, Full Metal Jacket.

i agree with everything except FMJ. I consider that less of a war movie and more about the experience of becoming a soldier, since it is primarily in boot camp for the movie.


Kingback, its about new recruits going through bootcamp in Vietnam and then their base gets attacked during the Tet offensive and they go on patrol.

Favorite war movie? Easy. Kingdom of Heaven. The only Orlando Bloom movie I have seen where he doesn't look like he has a large wooden dowel shoved up his *bleep*.

Every one he said but add We Were Soldiers. Its a movie about De Nang Valley in Vietname and Garry Owen 1-7 Cav, same unit I did a stint in Iraq with. Great history, great story, and its all true.

We Were Soldiers is my all-time favorite. Black Hawk Down is second.

Generation Kill (HBO series) is interesting particularly if you're an Insurgency player. Lots of similarities as far as equipment and uniforms and other props, except that the language is the opposite of what we allow on the servers. It's weird seeing how open they seem to be in the show compared to in the game. In Insurgency, if they can see one pixel of you, you're dead within 2 seconds, no matter what weapon they have.
