What is your favorite war movie?

A Bridge Too Far, Operation Petticoat, The Longest Day

 nice mixture there, all classics too! Anyone else seen or remember that other cary grant movie Father Goose? right up there with the pink submarine:lol:

The Bridge On The River Kwai, Kellys Heroes, The Longest Day, Platoon, Courage Under Fire, Saving Private Ryan & Black Hawk Down (Even though I think the portrayal of Somalis was too extreme).

Pretty much most movies on here, and yeah if you read Black Hawk Down, you know the movie isn't actually very accurate. More just a portrayal for people who haven't read it. Still excellent acting and superb special effects.

yeah, operation petticoat was a little inaccurate too, the submarine was more like mauve or fuschia color

:scared: How COULD I forget that classic movie! :cursing::facewall:
Anyways, thanks for reminding me about the 1001 ways to make shrimp! lol

Now that I'm looking through my movies, another excellent one is Der Untergang (Downfall) it's in German, but English subtitles. It's an excellent movie about the end of WW2 and Hitler's bunker! Give it a shot!

Lol....i still remember the adorable kid at the end though. Is the kid still acting?

not sure about favorite war movie, but my favorite scene from a war movie is from Black Hawk down when the Cobras and BlackHawks are flying into the city and its perfectly quiet aside from the sound of the rotors.

Awesome

if you're talking about the part where they're first flying into the city those aren't cobras those are little birds

If Stantey Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb falls into war movies, that's one I also pick. :3

I would have to say that all of the movies mentioned thus far are excellent. I might have missed it but "Behind Enemy Lines" was a good one. and "Pearl Harbor" isnt bad if you throw away the first of the 2 dvd's it comes on.
