I'm running the 285.. Did the step up through EVGA from the 260 core 216. Stupid name, smoking card. Like the 285... Bang for Bucks you cant beat the 260 216.
Nvidia is what im currently using b/c its onboard and my new pc dont have any agp slots for me to put my awesome ati x700 pro (it was awesome when i bought it 2 years ago )
ATI technologies are better for 4xAA or better when gaming, nvidia cards lack the processing power in those situations, the 4870x2 on crysis 2560X1600 over 4xAA gets better FPS than the GTX295 from nvidia, i'll alwyas use AMD and ATI, best performance for the price.
pffft you people with your expensive cards...
im running a freakin 8600 GT 512MB OC that i bought from staples, marked down from 139.99 to 79.99 with a $40 mail in rebate. so i paid 40 bucks for this card and i run the games i have great. source is currently at 1024x768 50-70 fps with everything high/full, but no AA/AF
only bad thing i'd say about this cheap bang for your buck is it CANNOT handle widescreen. as soon as you make anything widescreen it blips down to like 25 frames, so i play everything on window mode haha
never tried ATI but i can tell you my next upgrade will be Nvidia
most of the recent nvidia cards that came out is just a bit of a improvement of the 8's, ati the way to go for now i would say. but i just recently bought a 8800, so ill go ati next XD
