egypt is also 24/7 map, but not the one he is asking for. Warpath is pretty fun and very very competative if your looking for that type of game play...also blackmesa as stated above is an awsome map to play on. In the mean time, join one of those 24/7 maps and have fun while your suggestion is mulled over.

Well see having a 8v8 server doesn't use as much resources as a 32 man, you could probably have 3 and use the same resources as a 32 man. 16 man is a completely different type of game play than 32 and 24 man. Whilst it won't rank as high, that doesn't mean it won't be popular and full constantly, and draw a different crowd into eGO.

To my knowledge, a 16 person server uses more than half the resources as a 32 man, because there are some aspects of running a server that have little to do with how many people are connected. That said, our new boxes are pretty powerful, and might be able to handle the extra load of two 16 man servers instead of a 32. Although I'm not sure exactly why the 5th instance (Convoy) caused lag.

Whoops, I think I was using 8 for my figure not 16...lol. Yeah, a 16 man does use more than 1/2 a 32...
