As I said in my recruitment post, I'd like to make a jail map. Normally, I'd get to work on it, but I have kind of a weird idea that strays from the rest of the maps. The idea is, instead of a jail, it would be a corporate office building during a hostage crisis. The main room would be a conference auditorium, with side storage rooms and what have you instead of cells. There would probably be about 5 spawns per side room, but I'm sure I can make it so that the T's arn't all bunched up. I want to make the main room and side rooms enclosed in a bigger room, with catwalks for the CT's to use. This is hard to explain exactly, so I'll provide an image.
Little disclaimer: This example was made in about 20 minutes while writing this post. It does not represent the layout of the actual map when I make it, nor does it represent my abilities as a level designer.
Obviously, I would make it a little more balanced than what the image shows, but you get the idea. I have some cool ideas to randomly let some T's escape (not every round), and to make sure that the CT's can't just look into the rooms and do a head count. All the other areas of a basic jail map would be there. Instead of a armory, there would be a security station. Instead of a exercise yard, there would be a corporate exercise room, probably with racket ball courts. The doors will all be electronically locked, so the T's can't just open the door and run out.
Anyways, as I was saying, the theme is very different from any jail map I've played on. I'd like some opinions and a general yes or no on the concept before I devote any time to it. I have other ideas for actual jails that I can work on.
