HOW can I get better @ CS:S?

Right now, I'm doing horribly. I'm like bipolar with my CS:S skills. Sometimes, I'm great. I remember once I got 15-0 in an Office Pub. Sometimes, I suck so badly I feel like yelling. Like tonight, I got 0-7 and rage-quitted from the Office server after dying after dying. Someone just please, give me some tips or something! How can I get better @ CS:S?

We all have on and off nights, no matter which game we're playing. I think it has more to do how you go in to a game. You start off getting your face owned and you start to concentrate less and lose your focus, then it's all down hill from there. Just be patient and maybe when you start seeing that you are loosing your cool, step back and take it a little slower. I was in leagues for CS for several years and the one thing I did learn was to be very observant of how you're playing right and wrong.

Also, if you keep saying "I swore I shot him in the face!!" try using less accurate weapons and try out the "spray-and pray" varieties. Sometimes its just about weapon choice.

cts use the m4, with t's use ak or p90, play in places like our servers, follow around the ones that are just completely pwning, and watch what they do and try it yourself. It takes awhile to get as good as some of the players on our servers, and some you'll just never be able to touch.. one word of advice about our office server, never play if quix, killzone, or killingspree is playin it :p if you do at least be on their team lol. they can make anyone rage quit fast :p

High school is a good server as well to learn on honing your accuracy skills. And alot of mixed players of good and bad ones, and you can learn alot on that server.

1 day my kd ratio was 25:7. Another day I got a 1:8. For me, it's just alignment of the planets, but I did find one failsafe move. When using the ak or the m4, or any automatic weapon, short bursts are the key. CS:S has guns that begin to SPREAD LIKE MAD when fired too long, so it's best to keep short bursts of 2 or 4 shots. And surprise is your friend. I just like to keep away from enemies and wander around until there are about half of the opposing team left, then sneak up on them and blow 'em away in a firestorm. Hey, works for me.

Just keep playing. You'll get better at the stuff in time...

for basic training do you guys have lots of personal training sessions...or will you have events like oh this is instruction for this map, or how to use radar properly, or other things. or is it just going to be like last week where theres a quick instruction on a weapon then you all just go at it with that said weapon on a fun map

one thing you will quickly realize is....this is a team game. you cannot go rambo on this, you will die...always...and if you're not leet pro, you won't take anybody with you. there is no sense in solo rushing 5-6 CTs, as soon as you see that many you're going to panic anyway and target all of them, not hitting any...while they all shoot at you.
stick with your team, pick your shots and steal their kills..haha

The best tip I can give you is to go on eGO basic training, me I used to be a noob (well on eGO servers like you) but now thanks to BT I PWND

What happens is when you begin to play you usually suck.

End of story.

However when you start to get better you begin to experience what it is to do good.
So then you do good, bad, and everything in between.

This is where playing constantly and consistently becomes crucial.
Hence the 'bipolar'ness of it all.

Little by little you'll start to play better more often than worse and with practice and consistency, you'll play a majority of CS:S well, and a minority bad.

Another thing to remember is that eGO is constantly growing with new members all the time.

I've been noticing a lot more e's are joining the community and play VERY well.
This is much different it seems than earlier in the year where a lot of the e's coming in seemed to be fairly new to the game, whereas recent recruits have a flare of familiarity with the game.

So that's some of my two cents to ponder.
For a while there I was going most games with about a 3.0-4.0 K/d but it seems lately I've been getting killed before I can do much and I blame that on the collective rise in skill of players in the community.

Which is great news because it means everyone's getting better and now I might actually have to...

*gulp*

Sit up in my chair when I play.

Be ready :p

The events, are made to be fun, quick looks into weapons. The "bulk" of Basic Training are private sessions that you set up with the instructors in the Steam Group.

Well if you wanna to be beter in CS:S you need when your shoting aim neck/head and dont shot all bullets you need to sort 'em

Click on the BT icon on there, that should answer all you questions.

garry
IF you can learn how to control recoil you will be pro.
I can control recoil really well while stand if you need help you can add me on steam :D
Anthonyde is my steam name :p .
I can also not stress this enough use sound plug in your headphones and use radar.
If you hear footsteps look on radar and if there isnt your teammate there, then shoot for the neck and spray your heart out xD
