Lag complaints, what to do?

Lately I have been hearing a lot of lag complaints, and I just inform the people that we are aware of the problem and are working on a solution... but yet still the same people complain. I stay calm most of the time and just tell people that we are working on it again and that if it is a big problem for them that there are other servers out there that they can play on. Is this a decent way of taking care of the situation or what should I do? I don't want to bug the admins with something so petty but I just don't know what to do and it's really iritating!

Edit: I would like to suggest that we include in our rules that we are aware of the lag issues and complaints about the lag will be considered breaking the rules. I understand that most people will not read the rules completely and just start playing and that its not a huge problem until it gets excessive so the punishment should not be harsh a simple kick and most will come back and ask why they got kicked and can be informed not to complain. I believe that doing this will get the complaints down to a minimum within a few days and we can all enjoy playing again without the loud "LAG" in our ears :-). This seems harsh but at night listening to the complaints is ridiculous and I know you admins get annoyed w/ having to warn people over and over again. Let me know what you all think!! and PLEASE do not say get used to it or w/e because I don't go around bashing others ideas and I'm NOT complaining about the lag itself, just the results from others lol.

ya i don't really notice a problem with the eGO members complaining about it a whole lot while playing, but the pubbers sure go on about it basically constantly. is there something we could possibly implement so that there is like an auto announcement about not to complain about it...or...
meh i dunno

I know what you mean. Last night during the BT many people were complying about the lag and I was about to leave because of that. That is why I have to mute people during scrims because of this.

Guys only one simple solution... Patience, they're working to fix it. If you're tired of the lag stop complaining about it, it won't change anything even if you say it a billion time. The only thing that will happen if you spam it too much, you might get kicked or banned.

ITS IN THE STICKY PEOPLE! we dont need these post if people read the stickies!

Please do not yell at people. Some do not look or do not know where to look. No need to get hostile about it. So chill out, it is not that big of a deal. I strongly suggest you adjust your attitude. A better answer would be:

This sticky has the information you need. I hope that answers your questions.

GGRRRRRRRAAAAAAAWWWWRRRR
haha

In the HS/D2/Office servers I never really notice lag (in fact the reg is quite good in HS/Office/D2), the problem I've noticed is that on a lot of jail maps, probably b/c they have so much to do (resetting switches and stuff) the server chokes at the start of the round and that causes problems b/c not only do you have ppl complaining about lag, you have ppl complaining that they missed orders and it should be a freeday and it really turns into chaos... every round :P!

Please please please understand the miracle of online gaming. One server receiving updates and sending updates from/to 32 players is quite a tough job, when you pay the bill / have to be the lil piece of hardware that does all that number crunching you can have a right to complain!

YOU MADE ME DO THIS!!!!

Its bound to happen. Deal with it.

I actually have learned to accept the lag. It changes my strategy from an all time rusher to camping as well :)

Again please read my post before blurting out this nonsense... no one is complaining about the lag, all I want to know is how to handle the people that are or if my methodology is fine

again please read what I posted I'm not complaining about the lag, I don't like and I'm sure many who play on our servers regularly do not like having to hear "LLAAAGGG" yelled in their ears at the begining of every round. Yes yes let admins handle it, if there are no admins what do I do then? I play from early morning to late at night and early morning there are little to no admins on (granted the servers usualy arent hopping) but the other day it was mid-day and enough people joined that the lag at the begining of the round was appearing and all I can remember is ripping my headset off and closing cs:s because for the first 40second of the round I heard "LAAAAGGGG" from like half the people on my team(no e's of course) but I was just wandering if we could put it in the rules or something not to complain about lag, that we are aware if it and working on the solution?

i hear ya replay...just btw you can just edit your first post to include all 3...and i agree, it isn't really worth getting an admin in just to have him/her say please stop complaining about the lag..or whatever would be said

good idea on editing the first post, perhaps taking a pole on it or something might not be a bad idea either
