spawn killing rules in avalanche

Hello everyone. I would greatly appreciate if some of the admins can clear up my confusion on this issue.

For the avalanche server, I would like to know if there are any rules against "spawn killing." This issue came up last night while i was in-game. So my question is this:

1) What constitutes as "spawn killing?" For example, if I'm on Allies and i camp inside the axis base (double windows, v-crack, behind 2nd flag entrance, etc), is that considered spawn killing?

2) What are the rules on the issue of spawn killing?

Personally, I haven't read any threads or seen anything posted about this issue so please if an admin can clear this up for me, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
David

(double windows, v-crack, behind 2nd flag entrance, etc) is not spawn camping because axis dont really spawn there, its same way AXIS can get into the allies windows and apartments

yeah i would second that, i would consider spawn killing when you spawn and die within two seconds a spawn kill

lol it has happened before, but the spawn areas are blocked off already you can only to to allied, anything behind the fence on allied, is considered spawn camping, "I BELIEVE" from what other admins said. but otherwise your free to roam lol. :)

Where you are going jookie doesn't count as spawn killing.
If you get in that window above the axis spawn and begin killing axis, THAT Is spawn killing.
Anyways the area you go to is fair play, enough though I hate people who go through there lol :)

Spawn killing would be throwing nades in there or watching them and shooting while they spawn

It's very difficult to actually spawn camp the Axis on Avalanche; the Allies, on the other hand, are comparatively simple since it is easy to access half of the spawn area.

To answer your questions:

1.) None of those are spawn killing; it's when people literally have no chance and can die within seconds due to a player firing into the spawn. Try playing some of the sniper server maps, in particular 4towers, and you'll see EXACTLY what I mean.

2.) It depends on how it's being done. Glitching or exploiting (such as barrier jumping in Avalanche, on servers with the mattress frame) is not permitted. If you can naturally reach a place, you can do as you wish. I say "naturally" because boosting can be a gray area. If an Axis player can reach the Allied spawn on Avalanche, or vice versa, they can attack; they've fought all the way down there to earn the right (at least the way I have always viewed it). Sure, it's agitating to be the victim over and over, but everyone gets the same opportunities.

Sniper maps tend to be naturally conducive to spawn killing (notably, 4towers again), but it is permitted due to the nature of the map:

Admins are not to react when players are killed as they appear in spawn areas of sniper maps. Some amount of spawn killing will occur as players appear in plain view of the enemy because spawn areas are easily accessible by foot and the spawning enemy can be seen from many locations on the map.

i dont think you have to worry abour getting spwn killed in AVA.

You must not play Avalanche too much; we don't stop at that last flag, we keep right on rolling as far as possible ;)

heh ... spawn camping is deffo possible in ava ... not truly easy thoe, and the areas mentioned are deffo fair game \o/

As stated by jeod66, Spawn Killing in terms of eGO rules is killing a player immediately as an enemy spawns. On Avalanche specifically, this is difficult to accomplish for Allies, but for Axis players it is far easier. For Axis players, they can either place themselves in a couple of areas that can immediately kill Allied players. This is not allowed on eGO servers. You can actually shoot into the barricaded spawns, but only if opposing players are shooting at you or until sufficient time had elapsed to the point where said players could return fire. However, I would recommend simply avoid ever firing into said areas. You know it's never fun to be killed in spawn areas. So, again spawn camping for eGO is only killing players immediately when they spawn and have no sufficient time to defend themselves before death. Just use your heads in areas you plan to camp. Just keep a far enough distance from the actual spawns and you'll have no problem.

lol I just noticed that this thread title can be interpreted in a different way:
spawn killing rules in avalanche could also mean Spawn Killing ROCKS in Avalanche!!
